See Assigning Speed Dial Numbers on page 66 To use speed dial gt From standby mode press and hold the appropriate key for approximately two seconds From standby mode press the appropriate key and press or B The display confirms that the number has been dialed when it shows Connecting 23 Using Abbreviated Dialing Abbreviated Dialing is similar to speed dialing You can use either ofthe following abbreviated dialing features e Ph Book Match to retrieve any desired number saved in your Contacts by entering only the last three to six digits of the number This feature becomes available when you enable Abbreviated Dialing feature See Setting Abbreviated Dialing on page 47 Prepend to predefine the first five or six digit prefix you wish to use for abbreviated dialing so that you can dial a number by entering only the last four or five digits of the number This feature becomes available when you enable Abbreviated Dialing feature See Setting Abbreviated Dialing on page 47 To place a call using Ph Book Match abbreviated dialing 1 Enter the last 3 6 digits of a Contacts entry s phone number saved in your Contacts 2 Press or GD To place a call using Prepend abbreviated dialing 1 Enter the last four or five digits of your desired number 2 Press or GED Note If the digits match more than one entry the Abbrev Dial list will be displayed select the correct en

12. 3 Select the member you want to erase and press Options right softkey gt Erase gt This or All 4 Select Yes Finding Contacts Entries There are several ways to display your Contacts entries by name by speed dial number and by voice dial tags Follow the steps outlined in the sections below to display entries from the Contacts menu Finding Names To find Contacts entries by name 1 From the Contacts list display scroll through all the entries using your navigation key or Enter the first letter or part ofthe person s name The more letters you enter the more your search narrows 2 To display the entry s details select your desired entry and press To find Contacts entries by voice dial tag Note To use this feature you must have stored entries for voice dialing See Using Voice Activated Dialing on page 81 1 Press and hold on the right side of the phone 62 2 Say the voice dial tag ofthe Contacts entry you would like to find If the phone partly recognizes the name a list of up to three most likely match names is displayed You will hear the voice prompt Did you say followed by the matched name Note Your phone will automatically place a call if the voice dial tag is completely recognized 3 Say Yes if you confirm the name or No to change the selection Finding Speed Dial Numbers gt Select gt Contacts gt Speed Dial sis See Using Speed Dial
