Start Progress Channel Channels Found The Master menus are available while List A Both Cable Antenna gt Running 21 012 16 using the Master Remote R130K2 TME Go Back Time Time Access Sleep Timer Wake Up Timer Wake Up Time Wake Up Ch Schedule Chapter 1 4 gt 08 00 am Basic Off M 07 00 am 08 Place All Available Channels Into Memory 1 To go to the Setup menu with the master remote R130K2 press MENU then select Auto Channel Search In this menu you ll be able to set your Signal Source Choose from Analog Digital or Both This choice will depend on what connections you ve made to the ANTENNA CABLE ANALOG INPUT and or the ANTENNA CABLE DIGITAL INPUT jacks Now set your signal type The TV will search for all channels viewable through your antenna or cable TV system 2 Scroll up to select which channel list youd like to find channels for List A is the default 3 Press the down arrow button to select Start Press the OK button to start searching The TV searches for active channels and places them in the channel list Note Video Input Channels VID SVID etc must be added to the active channel list separately before they can be accessed Refer to the Setup menu section at the end of this chapter for more information on the Channel menu and List amp Labels Set the Time The current time options might not be available to the basic user depending on how they
4. 3 Choose between Basic amp Password Basic users are able to enter the Parental Control menu and change the password Basic users can watch blocked programming by entering the system password This is the default setting Basic Basic users are able to enter the Parental Control menu but cannot change the password Basic users can watch blocked programming by entering the system password No Basic Parental Control does not appear on the basic Main menu Basic users can watch blocked programming by entering the system password If Parental Controls is set to No Basic Movie Rating Access TV Rating Access Unrated Program Block and Channel Block will not be available to basic users regardless of what those items have been set to individually in the Parental Controls menu Minimum Standby Power When enabled keeps power consumption levels compliant with ENERGY STAR guidelines The TV is shipped with this enabled Note Min Stby Power must be disabled to use the DSCI port Legacy Mode When turned On allows the TV to work with earlier DSCI versions Thus making the set usable with older DSCI systems Off is the default setting Info Menu Allows the Master user to set whether the channel information is displayed when the INFO button is pressed on the remote Channel Guide Allows the Master user to determine whether the Channel Guide is displayed by pressing the GUIDE button on the remote The default is On Ignore PSIP_ When enabled Di

Energy Saver settings won t work if the TV Power is set to On Always in the Access and Power Options menu The basic menu options might be restricted by master menu settings The ClonePRO might have disabled master menus Sleep and Schedule functions won t work if the TV Power is set to On Always Care and Cleaning CAUTION Turn OFF your TV before cleaning You can clean the TV as required using a soft lint free cloth Be sure to occasionally dust the ventilation slots in the cabinet to help assure adequate ventilation The TV s screen may be cleaned with a soft lint free cloth as well Take care not to scratch or mar the screen If necessary you may use a cloth dampened with warm water Never use strong cleaning agents such as ammonia based cleaners or abrasive powder These types of cleaners will damage the TV While cleaning do not spray liquid directly on the screen or allow liquid to run down the screen and inside the TV Also avoid placing drinks or vases with water on top of the TV This could increase the risk of fire or shock hazard or damage to the TV Caution Using video games or any external accessory with fixed images for extended periods of time can cause them to be permanently imprinted on the picture tube or projection TV picture tubes ALSO some network program logos phone numbers etc may cause similar damage This damage is not covered by your warranty 36 Chapter 5 Other Information Limited

Select Movie Ratings Blocking Movie Ratings Once you are in the Movie Rating Limit menu follow the same steps described for blocking Canadian V Chip Ratings V Chip Exempt Program Block The Exempt Prgms option lets you decide if programs that the V Chip recognizes as unrated can be viewed Unrated TV programs may include news sports political religious local and weather programs emergency bulletins public announcements and programs without ratings The Exempt option applies to both USA and Canadian unrated programs and Canadian programs rated Unlocked All unrated programs are available Locked All unrated programs are not available Press the down arrow to highlight Exempt Prgms Then press the right arrow to toggle between the lock and unlock icon Chapter 4 29 Using the TV s Features Front Panel Selecting this option lets you lock disable or unlock enable the TV s front panel The remote still tunes to any channel When using this as a Parental Control method remove access to any remote that is capable of operating the television 1 From the PARENTAL CONTROL menu press the up or down arrow to highlight Front Panel 2 Press the right or left arrow to turn on lock is closed or off lock is open front panel lock Creating A Password Selecting this option lets you create a new password Enter a new password from the Password menu in the Lock Parental Control menu this is the password you use unti

8. do not need to reboot Note Pressing TEACH overwrites any settings already in the TV A TV must be turned on before being taught in IR mode After successful teaching the TV turns off and turns on with the new settings If the TV displays the message Cloning Timeout or Cloning Aborted press TEACH again to retry experimenting with the ClonePRO at different distances and angles from the TV If no valid settings have been stored via a DSCI LEARN the IR ready light will come on but nothing will appear on the TV screen Note The ClonePRO cannot be used to cross clone to copy the memory of older models into newer models or vice versa because the two have completely different memory maps memory sizes features and settings Config Pressing and holding this button in IR mode toggles the decommercialization and aftermarket resale of older model televisions Note that this is not reversible after turning off older model TVs 32 Chapter 5 Other Information Cloning a TV Use the ClonePRO or a master remote to complete any necessary setup steps to the TV such as Auto Channel Search changing Access and Power Options etc Go to Chapter 1 for more information on setting up the TV When you have finished setting up the TV you can use it as your example TV 1 Connect the ClonePRO to the example TV s DSCI port 2 It is recommended though not required to turn on the TV Press the POWER button 3 Press the LEARN but

11. remote accidentally Blank screen Make sure the component connected to the TV is turned on and the TV is tuned to the correct Video Input Channel Channel 3 4 VID S VID etc Try another channel Press RESET in case the picture controls are set too low e Press the ANTENNA button No sound picture okay Maybe sound is muted Press the volume up button to restore sound Maybe Initial Volume is set low Go to the master Sound menu to check If using S Video remember to also connect the component s left and right audio output jacks to the TV Can t select certain channel Channel may be blocked or not approved in the Parental Control menu Noisy stereo reception The station might be weak Change the Sound Type in the Sound menu from stereo to mono No picture no sound but TV is on Maybe the cable air setting is set to the wrong position Select Signal Type from the master Setup menu Go to Chapter 1 for more information The channel might be empty change channels If you re trying to watch content from a component that s connected to the TV like a DVD player or VCR press the INPUT button on the remote control until the content appears 34 Chapter 5 Other Information Sound okay picture poor Check antenna connections Make sure all of the cables are firmly connected to the jacks Try adjusting sharpness function to improve weak signals Go to page 12 for more instructi

20. apter 4 Using the TV s Features nn E Skip 0 30 T Channel Banner 06 ABCDEF dx l There are several items that might appear on screen when you press the TV or Channel Banner menu for an INFO button on the remote This display is called the Channel Banner The analog channel following list describes the items on the Channel Banner screen left to right and top to bottom SAP Displayed when the current channel is broadcasting SAP Second Audio Program information English T _ CC English Displays the audio language for digital programming Go to the A A K Presets menu to choose your current and default language settings Refer to page 11 for more information Channel Banner menu for a digital channel IN Displayed when V Chip has been activated CC Displayed when Closed Captioning is available on the current channel Stereo or Mono Stereo is displayed when the current channel is broadcasting in stereo Mono is displayed when the current channel is broadcasting in mono Skip 0 30 Corresponds to the SKIP button Shows the amount of time left before the TV switches back to the previous channel 07 18 am Displays the current time 06 ABCDEF Displays the current channel and label assigned to the channel Kx Displayed when you mute the sound Parental Controls and V Chip The choices in the USA V CHIP menu involve software inside your TV referred to as V Chip which allows you to block TV programs and movies bas
