SpectraLink 8002 Wireless Telephones Configuration and Administration SIP 32 WPA2 PSK The security features of WPA2 Wi Fi Protected Access using PSK are available and may be used if supported by the APs in the facility Select either Passphrase and enter a passphrase between eight and 63 characters in length or Pre shared Key and enter the 256 bit key code Regulatory Domain The Regulatory Domain will default to None on the handset display FCC requirements dictate that the menu for changing the domain be available by password which in this case is the LINE key To change the domain press LINE and then enter the digits that represent the site s domain Note that both digits must be entered 01 North America 02 Europe except Spain and France Japan channels 1 13 04 Spain 05 France 06 Korea As of this writing Spain and France are adopting the general European regulatory rules Check with your wireless LAN administrator or supplier regarding which domain to enter in these countries Transmit Power Available Transmit Power is regulated by domain The Regulatory Domain setting above affects the options available for this setting The default setting is Maximum which in North America is 100 mW The Maximum in other domains is 30 mW Transmit Power may be set to a lower number if necessary by selecting one of the other levels If changed from the default ensure the Transmit Power setting is the same on all handsets and

20. on the Admin Menu is set to 22 See Chapter 2 SpectraLink 8002 Wireless Telephone Configuration Section The Admin Administration Menu WMM QoS must be supported and enabled on the Wi Fi access point s When using the SpectraLink 8002 Wireless Telephones WMM QoS is mandatory to ensure voice packets are delivered in a timely fashion The AP must have WMM enabled If WMM is not enabled or if the AP does not support it the handset will stop and display an error e g No Net Found after firmware update Be aware that not all APs enable WMM by default In fact many APs require updated firmware to support WMM Follow the AP s manufacturer instructions to ensure WMM is supported and enabled Data APs may not support VoWiFi The 8002 handset has been tested with many SMB access points We have found that VoWiFi performance varies between AP models and even firmware versions An AP being used for data does not guarantee satisfactory Voice over Wi Fi performance We recommend that you update to the latest AP firmware version if possible If you experience unexpected behaviors try a different AP type A TFTP server must be on the local network with the SIP configuration files present A TFTP server is a required component of the LAN The SIP configuration files and the handset code reside on the TFTP server and the handset retrieves the SIP files at every power up It is not recommended or supported to have the TFTP server or call server acr
