1. e First Use 3 Helpful Hints 3 How to Make Waffles 3 4 Cleaning 4 Recipes 5 6 For Assistance 7 Warranty Back Cover Operating the Waffle Maker and another appliance at the same time from the same electrical circuit could cause an electrical overload condition which would blow the fuse or trip the circuit breaker SPECIAL POLARIZED PLUG INSTRUCTIONS This Philips Waffle Maker has a polarized plug for an added safety feature Plug will fit into polarized outlet only one way If plug does not properly fit outlet at first reverse it If plug still does not fit contact a qualified electrician DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DEFEAT THIS SAFETY FEATURE Before First Use Before using for the first time the baking surfaces should be cleaned with a moist cloth DO NOT IMMERSE UNIT IN WATER We recommend lightly greasing the baking surfaces when using for the first time This will not be necessary on subsequent occasions The first set of waffles should not be eaten Helpful Hints 1 Always preheat the Waffle Maker before baking Plug the Waffle Maker in first and prepare the batter while the Waffle Maker is heating 2 If you wish to have lighter toasted waffles remove them before the green ready indicator light goes off after approximately 4 minutes Or if you prefer darker toasted waffles leave them in a little longer time 3 If the lid resists lifting allow the waffles to bake a little longer then try lift
