8. 1 General Description 4 Names and Functions of Parts A Barf Status Indicators 4 7 1 4 7 2 This section explains the indication and meanings of the server LEDs Power LED The power LED lights green when the server is on The light turns off when power is not being supplied to the server Status LED While hardware is operating normally the status LED lights green The status LED is off or lights flashes amber if there is a problem with hardware The following table lists status LED patterns their explanation and solution Tips Once you have installed ESMPRO you can reference error logs to check the causes of failures Shutdown and reboot the OS If shutdown processing cannot be performed restart the system by resetting the system forcibly turning the power off or disconnecting and then connecting the power cord Flashing green Memory is in a degraded state Identify the device in degraded state by using the BIOS An uncorrectable memory error has often occurred Operating while CPU error is detected The power is ofi setup utility SETUP and replace it as soon as possible POST is in progress Wait for a while The STATUS LED will turn green after POST completes A CPU error occurred Turn the power off and then turn it on If the POST Abnormal CPU temperature is detected screen displays any error message take notes of the message and contact your maintenance service Watchdog tim

51. apter 2 1 2 5 Boot in Maintenance Guide This process is required because the saved boot order is cleared when you remove a Hard Disk Drive 6 Refer to Chapter 2 1 16 Attaching the Front Bezel Option of R110d 1E to put the front bezel back Orient the front bezel so that the alignment tab on the left will engage with the server frame and lock it with the security key 1 13 3 Replacing a Hard Disk Drive in the RAID System 90 In the RAID System you can use the auto rebuild feature that can restore the data back to the state before the failure occurred by writing the data saved before the replacement to a new Hard Disk Drive after replacing the broken Hard Disk Drive The auto rebuild feature is enabled in Logical Drives set to RAID 1 RAID 5 RAID 6 RAID 10 and RAID 50 The disk is automatically rebuilt when hot swapping replacing a disk while the power is on a failed Hard Disk Drive During the auto rebuild the DISK LED on the Hard Disk Drive flashes green and amber alternately to indicate that auto rebuild is being performed Observe the following precautions whenever executing auto rebuild e Do not turn off the server until auto rebuild completes after a Hard Disk Drive fails e Leave an interval of at least 90 seconds between a Hard Disk Drive removal and a Hard Disk Drive installation e Do not replace a disk during the auto rebuilding of another Hard Disk Drive during an auto rebuild the DISK LED on the Hard Disk
