Lifesource Your source for a li ifetime of health REEN ird yog f Flex Tip Digital Thermometer Soft flexible tip for safer measuring DISPLAY WINDOW BATTERY COVER MEASURING SENSOR START BUTTON DT 604 Congratulations on your purchase of the LifeSource Flex Tip Digital Thermometer Please read the instructions carefully to ensure accurate temperatures and safe operation When used properly this high qudity product will give you years of accurate dependable service SAFETY INFORMATION LU High prolonged fever requires medical attention especially for young children In case of high readings please contact your physician U Do not alow children to take their temperature unattended U Read the endosed instructions carefully to ensure accurate temperature readings L Do not alow children to wak or run while taking temperature The probe could present a hazard U Use only the commercial disinfectants listed in this manua to dem the ther mometer The thermometer must be intact when immersed in liquid disinfectant For more information see the section Cleaning and Disinfecting Never boil the thermometer U Avoid bending the thermometer tip more than 45 U Do not open the thermometer except to replace the battery L Kep battery away from children CHANGING THE BATTERY When the Y appears in the lower right of the display the battery is exhausted and needs replacing Make sure you use th2. indicated by thew see figure on right The mouth L should remain closed up to 5 minutes before taking a at Instruct children not to bite down on the thamomete U Approximete measuring time is 30 seconds Opening of mouth or Improper placement of the probe tip can result in longer read time UNDERARM AXILLARY USE U From a medica point of view this method will always give an inaccurate reading and should not be used if a precise measurement is required U Wipe underarm with a dry towd U Place probe tip in armpit and bring arm down against the e The probe should be pointing upward pardld to the am U Approximate measuring time is 30 seconds or longer depending on placement of the probe and closure of the am against the body RECTAL USE U Commonly used for babies young children or when it is difficult to take an ora or underarm temperature U After placing the probe cover on the thamomete lubricate with a water soluble lubricant LI Gently insert the probe tip no more than I inch or 1 3cm into the rectum Do not force the tip into the rectum if resistance is encountered LI Dispose of the used probe cover and wash the thermometer as recommended U Approximate measuring time is 30 seconds PRECAUTIONS L Do not drop unit or subject to shock U Do not boil the probe Clean the probe with isopropyl alcohol U Do not use solvents or thinners on the unit U Do not store the unit in direct sunlight or at high temp
