OmniSource Micro BATTERY CHARGER and RECONDITIONER Model BCRO6 OWNER S MANUAL Please read before using OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS OMNISOURCE Micro MODEL BCRO6 INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing LENMAR s OmniSource Micro Model BCRO6 With it you can charge virtually all 6 Volt Nickel Cadmium and NoMEM batteries except NOMEM Gold Series used with VHS C 8mm and Hi 8 Camcorders The BCRO6 will operate as an AC DC Battery Charger and Reconditioner The BCRO6 will operate from a standard household AC outlet or on the road from a 12 Volt cigarette lighter socket The BCRO6 is a complete convenient system to refresh condition and charge your 6 Volt camcorder batteries Getting Ready CONNECTING THE POWER SUPPLY To charge batteries either the AC Adapter or the DC Car Adapter must be plugged into the jack marked DC INPUT on the Base Module Once you have done this plug the power adapter into an AC receptacle or cigarette lighter depending on which adapter you are using Selecting The Proper Charging Mode For Your Battery Ni Cad or Nickel Cadmium Batteries When you recharge a nickel cadmium battery before it s fully drained the battery remembers it is using less than a full charge resulting in a loss of capacity Because of this the BCRO6 has a Discharge Charge feature which will automatically discharge your Ni Cad battery and then charge it fully Doing this will assure that you will get the m2. aximum life out of your Ni Cad batteries You may also choose to fully discharge your Ni Cad batteries before storing them for any reasonable period of time Use the Discharge Only feature to properly prepare your Ni Cad batteries before you store them NoMEM Batteries NoMEM batteries cannot be discharged and MUST be stored fully charged If you discharge a NoMEM battery it will diminish its capacity and or not fully charge up again For this reason NEVER use the Discharge Charge feature when charging NoMEM batteries For NoMEM batteries use the Charge Only feature To keep your NOMEM batteries fresh and to prolong their life they should be fully recharged as soon after each use as possible They should also receive a fresh charge after every 4 6 months of storage or non use Using Your BCRO6 In CHARGE ONLY MODE for NoMEM batteries Plug the appropriate power adapter into the base module insert the battery to be charged The red CHARGE indicator should light When the Red light goes out your battery is fully charged NOTE Never press the DISCHArge button while a NOMEM battery is inserted in the base module DISCHARGE CHARGE MODE for Ni Cad type batteries Plug the appropriate adapter into the base module and insert the battery to be charged The RED CHARGE indicator should light Press the DISCHARGE button at the top of the base module until the green DISCHARGE light goes on The green light will stay on until the battery is ful
