XV DDV1SL 17 The following procedure is required if you receive satellite programmes through a satellite receiver Approximately 20 seconds before a timer recording starts the unit sets its input mode to L 2 or SAT and automatically changes the programme position numbers on the satellite receiver by sending a signal to your satellite receiver Installing satellite controller Situate the satellite controller Place the satellite controller so that the path between its transmitter and the remote sensor on the satellite receiver is unobstructed Attach the satellite controller Fix securely using the adhesive strip attached on the back of the satellite controller Make connections Be sure to connect the L 2 IN connector on the rear to the 21 pin SCART connector on the satellite receiver When connecting your satellite receiver refer to its instruction manual Connect the satellite controller to the unit Connect the satellite controller to the SAT CONTROL connector on the rear 18 Setting satellite receiver s brand and programme positions After installation set the satellite receiver s brand correctly otherwise the satellite controller cannot work correctly INITIAL SETTINGS cont Turn on the satellite receiver Show the Main Setup screen on the unit Press SET UP e The HDD SET UP scr

9. 63 Playing a JPEG disc The unit can play back JPEG files on a personally recorded CD R RW disc A disc that contains JPEG files is referred to as a JPEG disc in this manual Notice that if a disc contains both of MP3 and JPEG files you can only play back files of the type selected by the MP3 JPEG setting in the PICTURE menu see page 77 About JPEG discs In a JPEG disc each picture is recorded as a file Files are sometimes grouped into folders by category etc A folder which has one or more files is regarded as a group e A folder which does not contain any files directly is ignored e Files which do not belong to any folder are grouped into group 1 e The unit recognizes up to 150 files per group and up to 99 groups per disc If there are files other than JPEG files they are also counted in the 150 file total Tax 99 groups per disc File 1 jpg File 2 jpg File 3 jpg Group 1 File 4 jpg File 5 jpg File 6 jpg Max 150 files per group For making your own JPEG disc using a CD R CD RW disc e Select ISO 9660 as the disc format e It is recommended to record your material at a 640 x 480 pixel resolution e This unit supports the baseline JPEG format 64 Basic operations Use the following buttons to operate a JPEG disc gt SELECT Starts slide show while stopped or paused m CLEAR or MENU Stops slide show I or ENTER Keep showing the

REGION CODE ERROR is shown on the TV Region code of the inserted disc does not match the unit Check the region code of the disc printed on the disc jacket Audio language sound or subtitle language cannot be changed gt Disc does not include these languages or sounds Check the disc Operations using the AUDIO and SUBTILE buttons are not accepted during playback Change the languages using the disc menu screen Operations are not possible Microcomputer malfunction due to lightning or static electricity Turn off the power and unplug the power cord then connect the power cord again Moisture condensation caused by a sudden change of temperature or humidity Turn off the power then turn it on a few hours later gt The disc does not allow the operation or an unplayable disc is inserted Check and replace the disc LOCK appears in the display window and you cannot eject the disc gt Disc is locked You have pressed amp while pressing down DVD HDD on the unit while in standby disc lock is activated Disc cannot be ejected in this status To release this status turn off the unit then press amp while pressing down DVD HDD on the unit Picture The picture is not displayed properly gt Set the DVD VIDEO SIGNAL SELECTOR to the appropriate position see page 12 Picture is noisy A VCR is connected in between the unit and the TV Connect the unit so that the picture signal flows d
12. e When unplugging the unit from the wall outlet always pull the plug not the power cord e Do not handle the power cord with wet hands 3 Precautions for the HDD FDI 1 Before using the unit When the power is on the HDD is constantly rotating at a high speed This requires you to note the following e DO NOT impart vibration or shock If given a heavy shock not only is the data recorded damaged but also the HDD itself is damaged e DO NOT allow anything having strong magnetism or emitting strong electromagnetic waves cellular phones etc near the unit e DO NOT disconnect the power plug from the wall outlet when the power is on If the power supply is cut off while the HDD is in operation it can be damaged or the stored data may be damaged Be sure to press the j STANDBY ON button to turn off the power 2 While using the unit e When viewing a TV program through the built in tuner you might notice a slight time lag compared to the actual program being broadcast This happens because pictures received are once stored in the HDD and then played back The time lag is approximately 3 seconds e If you turn the power on with the HDD already selected it will take about 20 seconds before the received pictures appear on the TV During this period no operation is accepted e The HDD may produce mechanical noise while power is on but it is not a malfunction This product incorporates copyright prot
