The OUT tray must be in the up position to properly load HP Premium Plus Photo Paper Glossy 4 x 6 in 102 x 152 mm with tear off tab To print banners the OUT tray must remain in the up position OUT tray down OUT tray up Printing Basics Photo Tray The HP DeskJet 950C uses HP s exclusive PhotoREt technology to enhance your color photos giving you exceptional quality pictures when you print on HP Premium Plus Photo Paper Glossy 4 x 6 in 102 x 152 mm with tear off tab You can place up to 24 sheets of HP Photo Paper into the photo tray The first time 4 x 6 in photo paper is used the printer will calibrate the Photo Tray by feeding through a blank sheet You can save the blank sheet for future use See pages 10 and 11 for specific instructions on printing photos OUT tray down Photo Tray Button press down and slide photo paper here it toward the printer to engage the Photo Tray Printer Maintenance Tips Because the printer ejects ink onto the paper in a fine mist ink smudges will eventually appear on the printer case To remove smudges stains and or dried ink from the exterior of the printer use a soft cloth moistened with water When cleaning your printer keep these tips in mind Do notclean the interior of the printer Keep all fluids away from the interior Do not use household cleaners or detergent In the event that a household cleaner or detergent is used on the printer wipe the printer

Your Print Cartridges 5 Remove the replacement print cartridge from its packaging and carefully remove the protective vinyl tape Do NOT touch the ink nozzles Do NOT touch or remove the copper contacts Black Tri Color Remove the protective vinul tape Do NOT touch the print cartridge ink nozzles or copper contacts Touching these parts will result in clogs ink failure and bad electrical connections Also do NOT remove the copper strips these are required electrical contacts Push the print cartridge firmly straight down into the print cartridge cradle Close the cradle latch When the latch is fully closed you will hear a click Load plain white paper in the IN tray O o N OD Close the top cover then a calibration page will print Note Anu time you install a new print cartridge the printer software prints a calibration page to ensure your print quality If you are in the middle of printing and stop to change a print cartridge the software will wait until your printing has completed before it executes the calibration test 10 If the Print Cartridge Status Light continues to blink after you install the new print cartridge check the part number on the print cartridge to ensure you installed the correct one 28 Using and Caring for Your Print Cartridges Storing Print Cartridges To maintain excellent print quality from your print cartridges Keep all print cartridges in their sealed packages
