2. e All installation and repairs should be carried out by a qualified technician in accordance to regulations in force e The manufacturer will not be held liable for any damage resulting from incorrect or improper installation e After having removed the packaging check the condition of the appliance if in any doubt do not use and contact Hotpoint Service see Key Contacts back page e The minimum safety distance between the hob and the extractor hood is 650 mm e Check that the mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on the rating plate fixed to the inside of the hood e For Class I appliances check that the domestic power supply guarantees adequate earthing e Connect the extractor to the exhaust flue through a pipe of minimum diameter 120 mm The route of the flue must be as short as possible e Do not connect the extractor hood to exhaust ducts carrying combustion fumes boilers fireplaces etc e Ifthe extractor is used in conjunction with non electrical appliances e g gas burning appliances a sufficient degree of ventilation must be guaranteed in the room in order to prevent the backflow of exhaust gas The kitchen must have a suitable vent to the outside of the building so that clear fresh air can circulate through the kitchen USE e The extractor hood has been designed exclusively for domestic use to eliminate kitchen smells e Never use the hood for purposes other than for which it has ben designed e

5. as high as practical at the centre of the area in which the hood will be installed Draw a horizontal line at 650 mm above the hob Place bracket 7 2 1 on the wall as shown about 1 2 mm from the ceiling or upper limit aligning the centre notch with the vertical reference line Mark the wall at the centres of the holes in the bracket Place bracket 7 2 1 on the wall as shown at X mm below the first bracket X height of the upper chimney section supplied aligning the centre notch with the vertical line see diagram above Mark the wall at the centres of the holes in the bracket Mark a reference point as indicated at 116 mm from the vertical reference line and 323 mm above the horizontal reference line Repeat this operation on the other side Drill 8 mm holes at all the centre points marked Insert the wall plugs 11 in the holes Fix the brackets using the 12a screws 4 2 x 44 4 supplied Insert the two screws 12a 4 2 x 44 4 supplied in the hood body fixing holes leaving a gap of 5 6 mm between the wall and the head of the screw Mounting the hood body Before attaching the hood body tighten the two screws Vr located on the hood body mounting points Hook the hood body onto the screws 12a Fully tighten support screws 12a Adjust screws Vr to level the hood body Connections DUCTED VERSION AIR EXHAUST SYSTEM When installing the ducted version connect the hood to the chimney using either a flexible or rigid pip
6. e 150 or 120 mm the choice of which is left to the installer To install a 120 mm air exhaust connection ie os ime insert the reducer flange 9 on the hood body i ra a LH a outlet 1 Da Ya Ne e Fix the pipe in position using sufficient pipe i 150 f 2 120 clamps not supplied e Remove any activated charcoal filters RECIRCULATION VERSION AIR OUTLET e Push the connection 15 onto the air outlet e Insert the connection extension pieces laterally 14 1 in connection 15 e Fix the connection extension 14 1 to the connection 15 using the 4 screws 12b 3 5 supplied e Ensure that the activated charcoal filters have been inserted Flue assembly Upper exhaust flue e Slightly widen the two sides of the upper flue and hook them behind the brackets 7 2 1 making sure that they are well seated e Secure the sides to the brackets using the 4 screws 12e 2 9 x 9 5 supplied Lower exhaust flue e Slightly widen the two sides of the flue and hook them between the upper flue and the wall making sure that they are well seated e Fix the lower part laterally to the hood body using the 2 screws 12e 2 9 x 9 5 supplied Electrical Connection WARNING This appliance MUST be earthed Connect to a 230 240V A C Supply only e Connection to the electricity supply should be made via a properly earthed readily accessible wall socket which is adjacent to and not more than 1 25m away from the appliance and capable o
7. f electrical isolation Should this plug not fit the socket outlet in your home it should be cut off and replaced with a suitable plug as outlined below Note The removed plug cannot be used for any other appliance and should therefore be properly disposed of and not left where children might find it and plug it into a supply socket with the obvious consequent danger IF THE FITTED PLUG IS REMOVED The flexible mains lead must be correctly connected as below to a three pin plug of not less than 13 amp capacity Ifa B S 1363 fused plug is used it must be fitted with a 3amp fuse which is approved to B S 1362 IMPORTANT The wires in the mains lead fitted to this appliance are coloured in accordance with the following code BLUE NEUTRAL BROWN LIVE CORD CLAMP 3amp FUSE As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug proceed as follows The wire which is green and yellow must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol or coloured green or green and yellow The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the N or coloured black The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red When wiring the plug ensure that all strands of wire are securely retained in each terminal Do not fo
8. ing vapour emission speed Switches off automatically after 10 minutes operation Can also be switched off manually by pressing the button A Air Outlet B Lights Halogen A C Controls D Grease Filters My I CARE AND CLEANING Before cleaning your cooker hood or carry out any maintenance switch off and remove the plug from the socket to disconnect it from the electricity supply GREASE FILTERS CLEANING METAL SELF SUPPORTING GREASE FILTERS The filters must be cleaned every 2 months of operation or more frequently with heavy usage and can be washed in a dishwasher e Remove the filters one at a time by pushing them towards the back and pulling down at the same time e Wash the filters taking care not to bend them Allow them to dry before refitting e When refitting the filters make sure that the handle is visible on the outside This filter is not washable and must be replaced after every 4 months of operation or more frequently with heavy usage e Remove the metal grease filters e Remove the saturated activated carbon filter by releasing the fixing hooks e Dispose of the carbon filter e Fit the new filter by hooking it into its housing e Replace the metal grease filters LIGHT REPLACEMENT vy halogen bulb e Remove the two screws fixing the lighting support and pull it out of from the Hood e Remove the bulb from the support e Replace with another of the same type making sure
