1. release the spring loaded Magazine 67 from the Magazine Cover 61 Slide the Magazine out Rev 09d Page 10 3 Insert the required size Fasteners 3 4 2 L 16 gauge Brad Nails or 1 2 1 1 2 L18 gauge Crown Nar row Staples into the Magazine 4 Slide the Magazine back into place until it clicks General Operating Instructions 1 Before each use test the Tool as directed in the prior section 2 Ifan automatic oiler is not used add a few drops of Pneumatic Tool Oil to the airline connection before use Add a few drops more after each hour of continual use 3 Grip the Body 24 of the Nailer with both hands and press the nose piece against the surface you wish to fas ten Be sure to keep hands fingers and other body parts away from Nozzle 4 Push the nose piece on a scrap material preferably the same thick ness and type of material as the workpiece Press the Trigger 42 to activate the Nailer Performing this test firing will help you to set the cor rect air pressure not exceeding 90 PSI to properly drive the fastener 5 Grip the Body 24 of the Nailer with both hands and press the Nozzle against the surface you wish to fas ten Be sure to keep hands fingers and other body parts away from the Nozzle 6 Pressthe Trigger 42 to activate the Nailer 7 To avoid indenting or marring when working on the face of fine surfaces 9 use the supplied Plastic Cap 86 on the Saf

6. using clamps not included to prevent movement while working There must not be hazardous ob jects such as utility lines or foreign objects nearby that will present a hazard while working Full Sequential Safety Trip Mechanism Definition This tool has a full sequential safety trip mechanism which is designed to prevent inadvertent firing The tool should only fire if the Safety Nosepiece is pressed against the workpiece prior to pulling the Trigger It should only fire again if both Trigger and Safety Nosepiece are re leased first The Tool should not fire if the Safety Nosepiece is not pressed against the workpiece Rev 09d Page 9 SKU 66902 Full Sequential Safety Trip Mechanism Testing Procedure AWARNING TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM ACCIDENTAL OPERATION Empty the tool before this procedure Point the tool ata piece of scrap wood when testing Disconnect the tool from the air sup ply Empty the Magazine of fasteners Check that the Trigger and the Safety Nosepiece move freely without stick ing Connect the air supply to the tool and set within the Operating Air Pressure indicated on the Specification chart Test the tool by pressing the Safety Nosepiece against the workpiece without pulling the Trigger The Tool must not cycle fire If it cycles fires stop immediately and have it repaired by a qualified service techni cian Hold the tool away or off of the work piece The Safety

OOL SET UP ASSEMBLY Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product Page 7 Note For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following pages refer to the Assembly Diagram near the end of this manual Unpacking When unpacking make sure item is intact and undamaged If any parts are missing or broken call Harbor Freight Tools at 1 800 444 3353 This air tool may be shipped with a protective plug covering the air inlet Remove this plug before set up Air Supply TO PREVENT AWARNING EXPLOSION Use only clean dry regulated compressed air to power tool Do not use oxygen carbon dioxide combustible gases or any other bottled gas as a power source for this tool Male Connector Male Connector Quick Coupler Regulator with Pressure Gauge Recommended Air Line Components 1 Incorporate an in line oiler shut off valve regulator with pressure gauge and filter for best service as shown in SKU 66902 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 the diagram above An in line shut off valve is an important safety device because it controls the air supply even if the air hose is rup tured Note If an automatic oiler system is not used add a few drops of Pneumatic Tool Oil to the airline connection be fore operation Add a few more drops afte

19. r each hour of continual use 2 Attach an air hose to the compres sor s air outlet Connect the air hose to the air inlet of the tool Other components such as a connector air hose and quick coupler will make operation more efficient but are not required AWARNING TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM ACCIDENTAL OPERATION Do not install a female quick coupler on the tool Such a coupler contains an air valve that will allow the air tool to retain pressure and operate accidentally after the air supply is disconnected Note Air flow and therefore tool perfor mance can be hindered by under sized air supply components 3 The air hose must be long enough to reach the work area with enough extra length to allow free movement while working 4 Release the tool s trigger 5 Close the in line safety valve be tween the compressor and the tool 6 Turn on the air compressor according to the manufacturer s directions and allow it to build up pressure until it cycles off Page 8 7 Adjust the air compressor s output regulator so that the air output is enough to properly power the tool but the output will not exceed the tool s maximum air pressure at any time Adjust the pressure gradually while checking the air output gauge to set the right pressure range 8 The air pressure setting must not ex ceed job site regulations restrictions The air pressure setting must not exceed 90 PSI when being used with wo
