5. e discarded if cut from a mains lead as insertion into a 13 amp socket could prove fatal Pa Ey INSTALLATION POSITION Place the freezer horizontally on a firm surface resting on all four plastic feet Use a wooden block or similar object to compensate for any bumps holes in the surface The room should be dry and adequately ventilated if the room temperature exceeds 32 C or falls below freezing point the freezer will not function as it should 9 Do not place the freezer close to sources of heat radiators chimneys etc and do not place the freezer in direct sunlight ifthe freezer has been handled standing on end it should be allowed to stand in norma position for about 12 hours before switching it on Please ensure that when the appliance is installed it is easily accessible for the engineer in the event of a breakdown SWITCHING ON Before switching on the freezer should be cleaned inside See under Maintenance Set the thermostat button in middie position Allow the freezer to run for several hours before placing food inside HOW TO USE TEMPERATURE CONTROL The thermostat ensures that the required temperature is maintained in the freezer Adjust the temperature by turning the button with a coin that fits the groove Turning the thermostat button towards MAX makes the temperature in the freezer colder and turning the button towards

8. ight L0 Electrolux SUPER FREEZING It is important that fresh food placed in the freezer is frozen quickly and that the food already in the freezer is heated as little as possible in this connection if more than 3 4 kg of food is to be frozen Press the square Super button yellow light comes on The freezer will now run continuously creating a sufficient reserve of the temperature required Press the Super button 6 24 hours before placing fresh food in the freezer depending on how much food is to be frozen Place the food in the freezer and leave the Super button on for about 24 hours more Then press the Super button again yellow light goes off The freezer will return to normal storage temperature if you forget to press the Super button again the freezer will not be damaged by running at the Super setting for some time but energy will be wasted PACKAGING AND POSITIONING Food must be cold before freezing no more than room temperature Food must be packed in airtight and moisture proof packaging to prevent it from drying out Place fresh food for freezing close to the cold sides of the freezer making sure that it is not in contact with the frozen food already in the freezer Never fill the freezer to more than 5 mm below the top edge see under Helpful hints CAPACITY The freezing capacity of the freezer is stated in the data pla
9. nt is obtained Replacement covers are avaliable from your local electricity shop or nearest customer service centre The colour of the replacement fuse cover must match the colour insert or emboss on the base of the plug In the case of a re wireable plug care must be taken to ensure that the top cover is refitted without causing damage to either the top cover or base In the event of the plug becoming damaged or cracked it must be replaced with an equivalent 13 amp BS1363 approved plug ref fig 1 and rewired using the following procedure IMPORTANT The wires in the mains lead are coloured i in accordance with the s code Green and Yellow me Earth GREEN amp YELLOW 13 AMP FUSE CORD CLAMP The wire coloured green and yellow must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter E or by the Earth Symbo or coloured green or green and yellow The wire coloured blue must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured black The wire coloured brown must be connected to the terminal marked L or coloured red Upon completion there must be no cut loose or stray strands of wire present and the cord clamp must be secure over the outer sheath and firmly tightened if a 13 amp 851363 plug is unsuitable for your sockets the plug should be removed cut off in the case of a moulded on plug and an appropriate plug fitted NOTE Moulded plugs cannot be re used and should b
10. r use a knife or any other sharp implement to remove frost When the frost or ice layer is 10 15 mm thick the freezer should be defrosted We suggest that you defrost your freezer when there is little or no food inside Switch off the current Remove the contents of the freezer wrap them in newspapers and leave them in a cold place The speed of defrosting can be increased by placing one or more bowls of hot not boiling water inside the freezer and closing the lid Open the lid after a while and remove the layer of ice carefully The defrost water can be collected in a bowl as shown in the drawing Do not try to speed up defrosting by using anything other than hot water since this may damage the freezer After defrosting clean the inside of the freezer IMPORTANT Remember to replace the plug in the drip water drain HOW TO CLEAN YOUR FREEZER INSIDE Remove the plug from the mains socket and remove all loose accessories before cleaning the freezer The best time to clean your freezer is after defrosting and before the electricity supply is connected again Use a damp cloth to clean your freezer Use hot water and a mild non aromatic cleaning agent After cleaning the freezer clean the basket baskets before replacing them IMPORTANT Never use strong cleaning agents scouring powder or strongly aromatic cleaning agents to clean your freezer inside since this will damage the inside and leave a s

18. zer in very humid surroundings The LOW FROST system minimizes the amount of ice caused by the natural temperature cycle of the freezer However ice build up from other sources is not reduced The most important other sources are poorly wrapped food and warm air introduced when the lid is opened Therefore it is important to ensure that the lid isn t opened unnecessarily and the lid is not obstructed by packs of food when closed If food stored in the freezer is not wrapped properly humidity from the food will settle as ice on the freezer walls Food quality will also deteriorate so ensure that food put in the freezer is wrapped well Maintenance and Cleaning The LOW FROST system does not need any maintenance or cleaning during normal use If needed the pipe can be wiped with a soft cloth Do not use any sharp or piercing tools as this may damage the system HELPFUL HINTS STORAGE Frozen food can be stored anywhere inside the freezer but should be kept at least 5 mm below the top edge Never exceed the maximum storage time for purchased frozen food When you buy frozen food make sure that it has been stored at the correct temperature Do not buy products which have wet or damaged packaging Place purchased products in your freezer as quickly as possible We recommend using an insulated bag to bring such products home with you Never place bottles warm or fizzy drinks in the freezer FREEZING
