1. Daylight Saving time or DST your Home City code the code for the city where you normally use the watch and the 12 24 hour format e This watch is preset with a number of city codes each of which represents the time zone where that city is located When setting the digital time it is important that you select the correct city code for your Home City If your location is not included in the preset city codes select the preset city code that is in the same time zone as your location e Note that all of the times for the World Time Mode city codes are displayed in accordance with the digital time and date settings you configure in the Timekeeping Mode e After you correctly set your Home City time and date you can set the watch up for timekeeping with a different city code simply by changing the Home City code in the Timekeeping Mode To set the digital time and date 1 In the Timekeeping Mode hold down until the seconds start to flash which indicates the setting screen Press twice to move the flashing to the Home City code setting see the illustration below and then use and O to select the code you want e Make sure you select your Home City code before changing any other setting e For full information on city codes see the City Code Table 3 Press to move the flashing in the sequence shown below to select the other settings Seconds gt DST Home City Code Hour gt

EFi displayed and Standard Time 4 displayed 4 Press to exit the setting screen e The DST indicator appears on the Month Day screen to indicate that Daylight Saving Time is turned on 4 H Setting the Analog Time Perform the procedure below when the time indicated by the analog hands does not match the time of the digital display To adjust the analog time n 1 In the Timekeeping Mode press five times to enter the Hand Setting Mode 2 Hold down until the current digital time starts to flash which indicates the analog setting screen 3 Press to advance the analog time setting by 20 seconds e Holding down advances the analog time setting at high speed e If you need to advance the analog time setting a long way hold down until the time starts advancing at high speed and then press This locks the high speed hand movement so you can release the two buttons High speed hand movement continues until you press any button It will also stop automatically after the time advances 12 hours or if an alarm daily alarm or countdown beeper starts to sound 4 Press to exit the setting screen e The watch will automatically adjust the minute hand slightly to match its internal second count when you exit the setting screen e To return to the Timekeeping Mode press World Time World Time digitally displays the current time in 27 cities City code 29 time zones around the world ae e All

MA0509 EA CASIO Operation Guide 4367 About This Manual e Depending on the model of your watch display text appears either as dark figures on a light background or light figures on a dark background All sample displays in this manual are shown using dark figures on a light background For the sake of simplicity the sample displays in this manual do not show the analog hands of the watch e Button operations are indicated using the letters shown in the illustration e Each section of this manual provides you with the information you need to perform operations in each mode Further details and technical information can be found in the Reference section General Guide e Press to change from mode to mode e In any mode except when a setting screen is on the display press to illuminate the display Timekeeping Mode World Time Mode Countdown Timer Mode HT Timekeeping This watch features separate digital and analog timekeeping The procedures for setting the digital time and analog time are different e In the Timekeeping Mode you can press to change the display format as shown below PM indicator P of Week Month Day EEN 53 Sao o Hour Seconds Minutes Digital Time and Date Use the Timekeeping Mode to set and view a digital display of the current time and date When setting the digital time you can also configure settings for summer time

9. beeper lets you know when the countdown reaches zero e When the progress beeper is turned off the countdown end beeper sounds for about 10 seconds or until you press any button to stop it e When the progress beeper is turned on the countdown end beeper sounds for about one second Progress Beeper When the progress beeper is turned on the watch uses beeps to signal countdown progress as described below e Starting from five minutes before the end of the countdown the watch emits four short beeps at the top of each countdown minute e 30 seconds before the end of the countdown the watch emits four short beeps e The watch emits a short beep for each of the last 10 seconds of the countdown e If the countdown start time is six minutes or greater the watch emits a short beep for each second of the final 10 seconds before the five minute point is reached Four short beeps are emitted to signal when the five minute point is reached To configure the countdown timer 1 While the countdown start time is on the display in the Countdown Timer Mode hold down until the current countdown start time starts to flash which indicates the setting screen e If the countdown start time is not displayed use the procedure under To use the countdown timer to display it 2 Press to move the flashing in the sequence shown below to select other settings m Start Time Auto repeat Progress Beeper lt lt _ 3

12. isplayed in the range of 0 00 to 23 59 without any indicator e The year can be set in the range of 2000 to 2039 e The watch s built in full automatic calendar makes allowances for different month lengths and leap years Once you set the date there should be no reason to change it except after you have the watch s batteries replaced World Time e The World Time Mode times are calculated from the current Home City time setting in the Timekeeping Mode using the Greenwich Mean Time GMT differentials associated with each city code e The GMT differential is a value that indicates the time difference between Greenwich Mean Time and the time zone where a city is located e GMT differential is calculated by this watch based on Universal Time Coordinated UTC data Backlight Precautions The backlight uses an EL electro luminescent panel that causes the entire display to glow for easy reading in the dark In any mode press to illuminate the display for about two seconds e The electro luminescent panel that provides illumination loses power after very long use The illumination provided by the backlight may be hard to see when viewed under direct sunlight e The watch may emit an audible sound whenever the display is illuminated This is due to vibration of the EL panel used for illumination and does not indicate malfunction e The backlight automatically turns off whenever an alarm sounds e Frequent use of the backlight s
