5. tion Unit Preliminary Information Overview This booklet provides information for installing Basic Rack Power Distribution Units Rack PDUs Receiving Inspect the package and contents for shipping damage and make sure that all parts were sent Immediately report any shipping damage to the shipping agent Report missing contents product damage or other problems with the product to APC or your APC reseller Inventory Quantity Item 1 Basic Rack PDU 2 Vertical mounting brackets 870 8473 8 8 32 flat head screws Please recycle The shipping materials are recyclable Please save them for later use or dispose of them appropriately Basic Rack Power Distribution Unit How to Install the Rack PDU Mounting options You can install the Basic Rack PDU in one oftwo ways using toolless mounting pegs provided or the vertical mounting brackets provided To install the Basic Rack PDU using the toolless mounting method install it in the rear of the NetShelter VX Enclosure in the cable channel directly behind the rear vertical mounting rails To install the Basic Rack PDU using the mounting brackets install it on a vertical mounting rail in the rack or enclosure Toolless mounting In order to mount the Rack PDU using the toolless mounting option you must install it in a NetShelter VX Enclosure 1 Slide both mounting pegs into the holes located in the cable channel in
6. upport Policy General policy American Power Conversion APC does not recommend the use of any of its products in the following situations In life support applications where failure or malfunction ofthe APC product can be reasonably expected to cause failure ofthe life support device or to affect significantly its safety or effectiveness n direct patient care APC will not knowingly sell its products for use in such applications unless it receives in writing assurances satisfactory to APC that a the risks of injury or damage have been minimized b the customer assumes all such risks and c the liability of American Power Conversion is adequately protected under the circumstances Examples of life support devices The term ife support device includes but is not limited to neonatal oxygen analyzers nerve stimulators whether used for anesthesia pain relief or other purposes autotransfusion devices blood pumps defibrillators arrhythmia detectors and alarms pacemakers hemodialysis systems peritoneal dialysis systems neonatal ventilator incubators ventilators for adults and infants anesthesia ventilators infusion pumps and any other devices designated as critical by the U S FDA Hospital grade wiring devices and leakage current protection may be ordered as options on many APC UPS systems APC does not claim that units with these modifications are certified or listed as hospital grade by APC or a
