If it is necessary to replace the power sup ply cable please refer to the nearest Polti authorised service centre since the use of a special tool is necessary Never touch the appliance with wet hands or feet with the cable plugged into the mains Do not use the appliance when barefoot Do not use the appliance near a bathtub shower or container full of water Never immerse the appliance the cable or the plugs in water or other liquids Use of the appliance in places where there 27 is a danger of explosions is prohibited Do not use the product with toxic substan ces Do not lay the hot appliance on surfaces sensitive to heat Do not leave the appliance exposed to wind or rain Do not place the appliance near a live ele ment an electric stove or any other source of heat Do not expose the appliance to extreme temperatures Never let children or people who are not fa miliar with how the appliance works use it Do not press the buttons hard or with a pointed object such as a pen Always rest the appliance on a stable sur face In case of accidental fall of the appliance it is necessary to have it checked by an authorized Service Centre as the internal safety features may have been affected In case of breakdown or malfunction switch off the appliance and never attempt to di sassemble it but refer to an authorized Service Centre In order to avoid prejudicing the safety of the appliance use only original spare

5. boiler remains off and steam cannot be generated Only the iron will remain operative NOTE The Iron heating indicator light 11 turns on and off during use This indicates that the electrical resistor has started to work to keep the temperature in the iron steady ENGLISH ENGLISH VAPORELLA FOREVER 1400 This is a normal occurrence and it is the refore possible to continue ironing SHORTAGE OF WATER The lack of water in the tank 3 is signalled by the indicator light C coming on To return to ironing proceed as follows Fill the tank 3 again as described in the paragraph PREPARATION e Press the RESET button 5 to cancel the shortage of water alarm The indicator light C will go out PUTTING AWAY THe APPLIANGE Make sure the appliance has cooled down completely before putting it away Tug on the power cable gently 9 until it clicks once and then accompany it with your hand as it is automatically wound up by the cable winder 9a Position the flex steam and electric 8 in the specific housing 8a fig 6 e Carry the Vaporella by its convenient carry handle 1 fig 6 ATTENTION before moving Vaporella by its carry handle ensure that you have replaced the power supply cable 9 and flex steam and electric 8 as described previously ENERGY SAVING STAND BY FUNCTION After 10 minutes of the appliance not being used it automatically goes into s

8. parts and accessories approved by the manufac turer Do not wind the power cable around the ap pliance especially when the appliance is still hot During refilling with water switch off and di sconnect the appliance from the mains It is necessary to keep the unit in horizontal position during operation Do not direct the steam jet on electrical and or electronic appliances Let the appliance cool down before clea ning it Before storing the appliance make sure that it has completely cooled down This appliances is equipped with safety de vices which are to be replaced only by a suitably qualified technician Do not direct the steam jet at people ani mals or debris Danger of burns Never place your hands inside the jet of ENGLISH ENGLISH VAPORELLA FOREVER 1400 steam Danger of burns Do not put any detergent or chemical sub stance in the boiler Water by its nature contains magnesium mineral salts and other deposits which in hard water areas can contribute to limescale build up in the tank In very hard water areas we recom mend the use of our KALSTOP FP 2003 a special natural base decalcifier which inhi bits and breaks down limescale This is a preventive against scale build up and pro tects the metal walls of the boiler KAL STOP is available from Polti dealers or from your Polti Service Centre Do not use demineralised water alone but mix it with tap water as described above Never use distilled
9. sing the iron temperature control 7 to the tempera ture required by the fabric fig 3 29 e Adjust steam pressure according to the type of fabric to be ironed by turning the steam flow control knob 6 to one of the following 3 options fig 4 q Intensit di vapore leggera 25 for synthetic or delicate fabrics Y Medium steam da for wool and fibres Y Strong steam Bea for cotton denim and linen The Steam pressure indicator B flashes Before starting to iron wait for the steam pressure indicator B to remain on fixed and the lron heating indicator light 11 to go out e Push the button 10 on the iron to release bursts of steam from the holes on the sole plate Release the button and the steam flow stops NOTE during initial operation of the iron a few drops of water mixed with steam may come out of the soleplate until the tempera ture stabilises It is advisable to direct the first jets of steam onto an old cloth until a uniform jet of steam is obtained e In order to have a continuous steam jet move the button 10a forwards Steam will keep on coming out even releasing the steam request button To interrupt the ou tlet move the button 10a backwards fig 5 DRY IRONING To dry iron regulate the iron temperature using the slider 7 to the temperature re quired by the fabric Position the steam flow control knob 6 to DRY On this setting the
10. tand by mode Both the boiler and iron are switched off The indicator lights A B and C flash simultaneously To re activate the appliance press the steam request button 10 N B The stand by function will not be ap plied if the steam flow control knob 6 is set to DRY 30 CARE OF YOUR VAPORELLA Before attempting any maintenance operation always disconnect the ap pliance from the mains To clean the body of the appliance simply use a moist cloth Do not use solvents or detergents which may harm the body mate rial CLEANING THE BOILER Disconnect the appliance and let it cool down for at least 2 hours Empty the water tank to prevent leakage Turn the appliance upside down and use the hexagon wrench 13 to unscrew the boiler cap 12 on the bottom of the ap pliance fig 7 Use the funnel 14 to pour 1 4 litre of cold water into the boiler CAUTION do not pour more than the specified amount of water into the boi ler Pour water slowly being careful not to let it overflow as this could damage the appliance fig 8 Rinse out the boiler and pour the water away into the sink or into a container for collecting dirty water If the water is very dirty repeat the opera tion until it is clean Put the cap back on the boiler checking that the seal is present and that the cap is screwed on properly Fill the water tank again and put the cap on Turn the appliance on again Befor
