X i Universal Opins gqxd 24 09 2004 11 4 Page 14 Enable Super Lock Qptim 9 cn the keypad Many vehicles are stolen when thieves break into your hore and steal your car keys and vedio transmitter perhaps while you are holiday Super Lock works by temporarily ignoring all radio trarsmitters Once Super Lock has been enabled only when the PIN code is entered into the keypad will the security system disarm There is of course a little inconvenience when you disam the security system yourself because you must first trigger it in arder to gain access to the keypad However Super Lock does offer a very high level of security to your vehicle whilst your radio transmitter is not in your possession To enable Super Lock tum on the vehicle s igitim give the redio trensmitter butta a quick press type 9 cn the keypad and inmediately tum off the igititin Arming the Security System After Enabling Super Lock After ewbling Super Lock you may am the security system once in th nomal way using the radio transmitter Disarming the Security System After Enabling Super Lock To this enter the vehicle the sirm will sam type your PIN code into te keypad the security system will disam in the nomal way All your radio transmitters will now function as normal Adjusting Door Open Warning Bleep Volume ptim o the keypad To switch between loud and soft door open waming bleeps tum om the vehicle s igiitim type on the keypad and immediately

9. e radio transmitter button a quick press The dashboard mounted LED will flash once Tum off the vehicle s ignitim immediately Vacate the vehicle closing all doors boot and baret Give the radio transmitter button a quick press whilst standing near the vehicle The security system will acknowledge arming with 8 flashes of the vehicle s hazard waming lights instead of the nmal 4 The doors will double lock as normal Ultrasoic interior protection will be restored the next time the security system is armed in the normal way Also possible using the miltifunctim keypad See page 11 for amp als Automatic Inmobilisation and Starting the Vehicle The alam system is amad and disamred by your radio transmitter however the vehicle also has inmmobilisatim circuits tht set automatically ter the igitim is switched df This is a Thatcham MRR requirement so that the driver cannot forget to set the immobilisation system Although the vehicle is inmobilised the alam system is not amad and the interior doors boot amd bomet circuits ae not protected until tt radio transmitter button is pressed to am the security systen Impreza Forester 1999 2002 MY and Legacy 1999 2003 MY When the ignitim is tumed off o these vehicles the dashboard momted LED will be switched toa amstat on sate for 30 seconds dependent on programming During this LED on time you may start the vehicle After this time the I etinguistes to indicate that both i
10. een issued to you on two self adhesive labels This PIN code is unique to your security system and you must keep it in a safe place Altematively you can change the PIN code printed on the issued labels to one of your own choice that you can easily remember Failure to recall your PIN code could increase the cost of replacing or adding further radio transmitters and will prevent yourself and your SUBARU dealer from overriding the security system in the unlikely event of radio transmitter failure If you do not know or have forgotten your PIN code then your SUBARU dealer can reset this for you provided that the security system is not armed Note When using the keypad each time a button is pressed the LED on the keypad will flash once as confirmation The next button should not be pressed before this confirmation However you only have 10 seconds to enter the next character If yu do not press the next character within this time period the LED on the keypad will flash repeatedly ater which you must start the sequence again from the beginning Disarming the Security System if it fails to operate using the Radio Transmitter If the radio trenamitter fails to qoerate the security system due to a depleted battery in the vedio transmitter for emple or its ttal loss damage the security system can be disarmed using the keypad To this enter the vehicle the sim will sum type your PIN code into the keypad the security system will disam i

15. ing the radio transmitter button will disam the security system whenever it is sounding When the security system is somding and the radio transmitter buttm is pressed to disam the security system the doors will remain double locked as a safety feature To unlock the doors simply re arm then disarm the security systen The security system has an anti nuisance feature allowing each protected circuit to aly trigger 10 times dependent on programming in any amed period after which the civouit causing the continual trigger will shut dow leaving all other circuits protected G SUBARU 6 eE X i Universal Opins qxd 24 09 2004 11 4 Page 9 3 Security System Options These can be turned on or off by your SUBARU dealer Door Open Warning Bleeps This feature is tumed m at installatim but can be tumed off by yur SUBARU dealer W ith this feature th security system will bleep if ama when a coor bamet o theboot is still qan or ajar If yu am tte arity system in this instan the siren will repeatedly bleep for 15 seconds after the radio transmitter bittm is pressed If the security system is not disarmed or the open door baomet or boot is mot closed within 15 seconds the siren will thm sud at full pwer This will omtine for te 30 soad cycles after this the qen door bamet or boot will be ignored by the security system to conform to noise abatement laws and is no longer protected Note One door left open in thi

20. o transmitter button to disarm the system in the nomal way however continue to keep the button pressed for the boot release feature to qperate The security system will acknowledge disaming with 1 flash of the vehicle s hazard waming lights and the doors will unlock shortly after this the boot will also com The button can now be released Ultrasonic Interior Protection The interior protectim systen in the SUBARU Category 1 Alarm System employs a soghisticated microprocessor ootrolled ultrasmic method of cetectim thlike conventional ultrasonic detectors this method ensures that an actual entry has occurred rather than just air moverent air pressure fluctuation seat belt movement etc Whenever the system is armed Initially the dashboard LED flashes dimly for the first 15 seconds During this pericd the ultrasmic sensors are inactive This allows the air movement inside the vehicle tod dilic The dashboard LED will then flash brightly for the next 15 seconds The ultrasmic sensors are now active The alam system s microprocessor mmitors the interior of th vehicle ad will rehbe tl csemsitivity fom th mximm sensitivity programmed by the installer if any backgromd moverent is detected that would cause a false alam if excess movement is detected during this period the LED will ramin illuminated for a second indicating that the sensitivity has been reduced After the first 32 seconds the dashboard LED will flash dimly again The system is now
21. ring this LED on time yo my stat te vehicle After this time the LED ettinguishes to indicate that the inmobilisatim circuits has amed automatically 2 5 amp 3 0 Legacy 2004 MY onward When the ignitio is tumed off or when disarming the security system cn these vehicles the dashboard mounted LED will be switched to a constat on sate for 30 seconds dependent on programing however the vehicle s imvcbilisatim ciraits only am when the vehicle s coded key is removed from the ignition barrel When the vehicle s coded key is retumed to the ignitio barrel the inmcbiliser automatically disams and the vehicle can be started To summarise in all instances if the LED is costatly on yo com stat tt vehicle Personal Panic Siren Test Not 2004 MY gt Legacy saloon models with Boot Release If the transmitter buttco is pressed and held down for 5 seconds dependent mm programming the siren will somd and the indicators will flash for a short tine Due to the method of activati this feature is not available mn Legacy salom m ls if the Boot Release optim is umed If you wuld prefer to have the Ferscmal Panic feature instead of Boot Release your dealer can disconnect the Boot Release output If the Security System is Triggered If the seaurity system is triggered the siren will su at full power for aporodietely 30 seconds after which the siren will stop am the security system will immediately re am ready for any further attack Press
