1. Cooking zones stay hot after use for some time don t leave objects on the hob or touch the top until the residual heat indicator light is off Don t use plastic pots or aluminium sheets on the hob Don t use hob as a work surface CAUTION lf a crack in the hob surface becomes visible due to accidental damage etc isolate the appliance from the electricity supply immediately by turning it off at the wall and arrange for its repair DO NOT RECONNECT THE HOB TO THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY UNTIL AFTER REPAIR Before any cleaning operation disconnect the appliance from the electric circuit EASY GUIDE Cleaning To keep the surface clean and bright we recommend you use a silicone conditioner Used prior to jam making this will help to protect the surface of the hob It is very important to clean the surface soon after every use when the glass is still warm Do not use abrasive sponges or scourers of any type Corrosive cleaners such as oven sprays and stain removers or abrasive powders should not be used either Depending on the dirt level we recommend Slights stains use a moist clean cloth Burnt or soiling may be removed with a special razor scraper fig 3 careful the blade is sharp and can cause a nasty cut Marks from pot overflows can be removed using vinegar or lemon Do not let sugar or sugar solutions run onto the surface If this happens turn the hob off and clean the surface with2. 5 and 6 Fig 5 Fig 6 2 FIXING Screw the fixing brackets to the hob fig 7 Fig 7 Turn the hob over Carefully fit the seal E in fig 8 under the hob edge but don t remove the protective paper strip Stick the seal to the hotplate uniformly pressing it with your fingers The ends of the strip must fit together without overlapping Fig 8 Take the protective paper strip off the seal place the hotplate in the opening made in the work top and lock it in place with the special screws F in fig 9 Fig 9 IMPORTANT The glue used to fix plastic laminate to worktop has to be able to withstand 150 C to avoid delaminating This appliance is type Y with regard to protection against over heating of the surrounding surfaces The rear wall adjacent and surrounding surfaces must therefore be able to withstand a ISTALLATION INSTALLATION 3 Electrical Connection This appliance must be installed by a qualified electrician to comply with the relevant Institute of Electrical Engineers I E E regulations and also the local electricity supply company requirements WARNING THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED Make sure that the mains characteristics voltage nominal power etc match the ratings indicated on the data plate on the hob base The appliance must be connected to an efficient earthing circuit If the electricity network is not equipped with an earth connection then

5. hot water and the razor blade scraper If any plastic item kitchen foil sugar or food containing sugar is accidentally allowed to melt on the hot surface remove it immediately with a scraper while the hob is still hot to avoid the risk of damage to the surface After some use metal marks and scratches fig 4 due incorrect cleaning and the wrong use of the pots may appear on the hob top The scratches are difficult to remove but they do not compromise the good working of the hob But make sure that there are no cracks Rinse well and dry with another paper towel or soft cloth Take care that no water seeps into the appliance around the control knobs Fading of the text is not covered by the guarantee ISTALLATION TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE INSTALLER The installation and service procedures given below may only be carried out by a competent technician Failure to install the appliance correctly could be dangerous and invalidate any warranty or liability claims The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage to persons or property caused by incorrect installation or use of the appliance 1 Preparation After unpacking the hob make sure it is complete and undamaged Please keep children away from all packaging carton polystyrene nails Make a cutout in the worktop according to the dimensions shown in fig 5 make sure that the installation will comply with the critical clearance dimensions fig

8. residual heat light that turns on when the cookin zone temperature is above 60 C This will turn off only when the cooking zone has cooled below this value EASY GUIDE Hob controls There are 12 settings giving a wide range of temperatures Setting Suggested use 1 Melting butter chocolate etc 1 4 Heating small quantities of liquid and to keep dishes warm 4 8 Heating foods thawing deep frozen foods cooking fruits and vegetables 8 10 Cooking meat fish vegetables with sauce 10 12 Saut ing meat or fish cooking fish steaks and eggs 12 Frying with oil and heating pans full of water You can turn the control knob clockwise or anticlockwise to the required setting The residual heat light marked 5 on the diagram opposite will come on when the zone is warm How to use the cooking zones The heating areas are the circles marked on the hob Use pots and pans that completely cover the circles Seasetaa DECCA IMPORTANT Remember Place the pan on the cooking zone before turning the control on Use pots and pans with flat solid bases Use pots with the same diameter as the cooking zones or slightly larger Dry the bottom of the pot before putting it on the cooking zone Do not scrape the pot along the glass This will damage it While you are using the hotplate please keep children well away Make sure that pot handles are in a safe position Never leave a pan of fat or cooking oil unattended
