1. Extracci n de la pila recargable incorporada antes de desechar el recortador La pila en este recortador no fue pre vista para ser reemplazada por los consumidores Sin embargo la pila se puede reemplazar en un centro de servicio autorizado El procedimiento descrito abajo tiene por objetivo sola mente la extracci n de la pila con el fin de desecharla adecuadamente ADVERTENCIA No intente reemplazar la pila con el prop sito de reutilizar el recortador Con esto correr el riesgo de que se produz can incendios o descargas el ctricas 1 Desconecte el cable de ali mentaci n del tomacorriente de CA y extraiga el cable de ali mentaci n del recortador 2 Extraiga la cuchilla del recorta dor Retire los 4 tornillos a vea la fig 10 3 Extraiga la cubierta del cuerpo del cortador bastidor vea la fig 11 4 Extraiga la pila vea la fig 12 11 Precauci n Para prevenir el riesgo de lesiones personales incendios o descargas el ctricas 1 No cargue el recortador a tem peraturas por debajo de 0 C 32 F o por encima de 40 C 104 F o donde este quede expuesto directamente a los rayos solares o a alguna otra fuente de calor 2 No contin e la carga por m s de 48 horas Esto podr a da ar la pila 3 Limpie la bastidor solamente con un trapo suave y ligeramente humedecido con agua o con una soluci n de agua jab n No util ice nunca una soluci n c ustica 4 Nunca su2. 3. battery A How to remove the built in rechargeable battery before dis posal of the trimmer The battery in this trimmer is not intended to be replaced by con sumers However the battery may be replaced at an authorized service center The procedure described below is intended only for removal of the rechargeable battery for the pur pose of proper disposal WARNING Do not attempt to replace the bat tery for the purpose of reusing the trimmer This could result in the risk of fire or electric shock 1 Disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet and remove the power cord from the trimmer 2 Remove the blade from the trim mer Remove the 4 screws a see fig 10 3 Remove the body cover hous ing see fig 11 4 Remove the battery see fig 12 Caution To prevent the risk of personal injury fire or electric shock 1 Do not charge the trimmer at tem peratures below 0 C 32 F or above 40 C 104 F or where it will be exposed to direct sunlight or some other heat source 2 Do not continue charging for more than 48 hours This may damage the battery 3 Clean the housing only with a soft cloth slightly dampened with water or soapy water Never use a caustic cleaner 4 Never immerse the trimmer in water 5 The trimmer may become warm during operation and normal recharging This is normal Do not use the trimmer near or over basins filled with water Never use i

5. e against the skin and make the border of the beard even Maintenance Blades 1 Brush out the cutting mechanism see fig 6 2 Hold the body of the trimmer with the on off switch facing upwards and with your thumb against the blade assembly push the blade assembly away from the main body see fig 7 3 Push down the cleaning lever to raise the moving blade and brush in between the blades see fig 8 4 Puta few drops of oil between the stationary blade and moving blade see fig 9 Blade Life Blade life will vary according to the frequency and length of use For example using the unit for 10min utes every 3 days the life expectan cy is approximately 3 years If cut ting efficiency is reduced substan tially despite proper maintenance the blades have exceeded their ser vice life and should be changed Battery life Battery life will vary according to the frequency and length of use If the battery is charged 3 times a month the service life will be approximately 6 years If the unit is left without being charged for more than 6 months the charge will drain from the battery and its service life may be shortened Therefore even when not using reg ularly it is recommended that the unit be recharged at least once every six months ATTENTION A nickel metal hydride battery that is recyclable powers the product you have purchased Please call 1 800 8 BATTERY for information on how to recycle the
