Arranging Oven Racks ALWAYS ARRANGE OVEN RACKS WHEN THE OVEN IS COOL PRIOR TO OPERATING THE OVEN Always use oven mitts when the oven is hot RECOMMENDED RACK POSITIONS FOR BROILING BAKING amp ROASTING Food Rack position Broiling meats chicken or fish 3or4 Cookies cakes pies biscuits amp muffins 1 rack 2o0r3 Multiple racks 2 amp 4 Frozen pies angel food cake yeast bread 1or2 casseroles small cuts of meat or poultry Turkey roast or ham 1 Rack positions Note Always use caution when removing food Setting Oven Controls Refer to the Electronic Oven Control Guide for oven settings 15 OA ve Arranging Warmer Warm amp Ready Drawer Rack Positions The rack can be used in 2 ways e Inthe upright position to allow low profile food items to be placed both under and on top of the rack for example rolls or biscuits on top of the rack and a casserole dish underneath e Inthe downward position to allow you to place light weight food items and empty dishware for example rolls or pastries and dinner plates onthe rack Set the Warmer Drawer Rack in either position as shown below Fig 1 Operating the Warmer Drawer The purpose of the Warmer Drawer is to keep hot cooked foods at serving temperature Always start with hot food Itis not recommended to heat cold food inthe Warmer Drawer All food placed in the Warmer Drawer should be covered with a

Warm amp Ready Zone Model D Warmer Zone Recommended Food The purpose of the Warmer Zone is to keep hot cooked foods at serving SENGS tere temperature Use the Warmer Zone to keep cooked foods hot such as vegetables gravies casseroles soups stews breads pastries and oven safe dinner plates Always start with hot food It is not recommended to heat cold food on the Warmer Zone All food placed on the warmer zone should be covered with a lid to maintain quality For best results when warming pastries or breads the cover should have an opening to allow moisture to escape Do not use plastic wrap or aluminum foil to cover food Plastic or aluminum may melt onto the surface Use only plates utensils and cookware recommended for oven and cooktop use on the Warmer Zone Food Item Heating Level Hot Beverages Fried Foods Vegetables Soups Cream Stews Sauces Meats Gravies Eggs Dinner Plates with Food Casseroles Breads Pastries Fig 1 Warmer Zone Temperature Selection Refer to the Warmer Zone table for recommended heating levels Fig 1 Ifa particular food is not listed start with the medium level and adjust as needed Most foods can be kept at serving temperatures by using the medium level To Set the Warmer Zone Control 1 Touch the pad at the Warmer Zone control position The Warmer Zone indicator light will flash Note If no further pads are touched within 25 seconds the request to power the Warme
20. commended to use mild dish soap and water or a 50 50 solution of water and vinegar Surface Elements and Drip Surface elements can be unplugged and removed to make cleaning the drip bowls easier Bowls some models The surface elements clean themselves when they are turned on Food spilled on a hot element will burn off Food spilled on a cold element can be cleaned with a damp cloth any remaining soil will burn off the next time element is used NEVER IMMERSE A SURFACE ELEMENT IN WATER To remove surface element and drip bowls follow the instructions under General Cleaning To clean drip bowls wash in hot soapy water or in the dishwasher Rinse and dry while still warm Hard to remove burned on soils can be removed by soaking the drip bowls for about 20 minute in a slightly diluted liquid cleanser or solution made of equal parts ammonia and water A nylon scrubber may be used after soaking DO NOT use abrasive cleanser or steel wool as they will scratch the surface Always rinse with clean water and polish and dry with a soft cloth To replace drip bowls and surface elements follow the instructions under General Cleaning Porcelain Enamel Gentle scouring with a soapy scouring pad will remove most spots Rinse with a 1 1 Broiler Pan and Insert Door solution of clear water and ammonia If necessary cover difficult spots with an ammonia Liner Body Parts and soaked paper towel for 30 to 40 minutes Rinse with clean water and a damp cloth
