2. 1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS uneneenssnsenssenneennennnnnneennennnennnen 2 2 INTRODUCTION nsenneenseeseensennsennnennnnnnnnnnennnnnnnnnnnnnnennnnnnnenne 3 3 INSTALLATION c ssssssessssssseesesssesseessessessaseseesessanesseensesseseas 4 4 CONNECTIONG ccssssssssssessesssesseessessessaseeseesessnsesaeensesneeeas 5 5 SPECIFICATIONS nnenenenneenennennseennennennnennnennnennnnnnnnnnennnnnn 6 6 SERVICE INFORMATION nennsnseensensennnennsenneennennnennnennnnnn 1 7 WARRANTY iiini 7 2 INTRODUCTION This manual describes the CIS50 CIS65 and CIS80 loudspeakers These are designed for flush mounting ceiling installation The HF and LF drivers are coaxially mounted for a smooth frequency response and a symmetrical projection pattern This results in an attractive design and good acoustic features for quality speech and music reproduction Each loudspeaker is equipped with a line transformer that makes it possible to connect it to constant voltage sound systems at 70 V or 100 V The transformer has taps allowing a selection of power ratings The polypropylene LF cone and mylar HF dome provide stable operation in varying environmental conditions They also provide higher reliability and longevity over similarly priced paper coned products The steel firedome backcan is fitted with unique clamps that can significantly reduce its installation time The grille assembly is firmly attached from behind the baffle
3. or line level audio lines Use speaker cables that have markings to distinguish the polarity such as insulation or conductors of different colors Installation procedure 1 Cuta hole in the ceiling using all safety precautions to avoid cutting power lines water lines etc Use the following table as a guide Loudspeaker Diameter CIS50 160 mm CIS65 200 mm CIS80 230 mm 2 Take the firedome loosen the two wing bolts and slide the fixing plates upwards This allows the firedome to be pushed up inside the ceiling hole Before you do that thread your audio speaker cable through one of the firedome grommets The firedome comes with a large fixing bolt for securing in case of earthquakes etc 3 When the firedome is securely pushed up inside the ceiling hole slide the fixing plates down to grip the top surface of the ceiling and tighten up the two wing bolts This will hold the firedome in place 4 CIS Series EAW COMMERCIAL 4 CONNECTIONS WARNING To prevent the risk of electric shock do not connect the loudspeaker with the amplifier switched on 1 Offer up the Loudspeaker and attach the spring clips to one of the firedome side brackets 2 Connect your amplifier output to the terminals on the loudspeaker The negative amplifier output connects to the loudspeaker COM terminal the positive amplifier output connects to one of the other loudspeaker terminals Use the tables in the specification section to sel

The driver baffle assembly then easily installs in the premounted firedome with spring loaded hardware This results in a solid attachment method that also provides a cosmetically clean appearance Five year warranty Applications include Meeting Rooms Hotels e Transportation Terminals Multizone Paging Music Systems Healthcare Facilities e _ Commercial Offices e _ Conference Rooms e Schools ER ZGEAW CIS Series 3 N 3 INSTALLATION The metal firedome provided with each loudspeaker offers quick installation into ceilings WARNING Make sure that the loudspeaker is installed in a stable and secure way in order to avoid any conditions that may be dangerous for persons or structures e Check to make sure that the ceiling has the necessary mechanical characteristics to support the weight of the loudspeaker without the danger of it falling e Before suspending the loudspeaker carefully check all the components to be used to make sure there is no damage deformation corrosion and or missing or damaged parts that could reduce the safety of the installation Installation precautions e Use speaker cables with an adequate cross section gauge The greater the distance between the amplifier and loudspeaker the larger the connection cable cross section should be e To prevent inductive phenomena causing humming or distortion the speaker cables should not be run together with electrical energy conductors microphone cables
7. ect the power rating for the voltage line you are using 70 V or 100 V Use a small flat screwdriver to secure the connections U hf DS ea ee le 54321 4 MES 3 When the connections are securely made connect the other spring clip to the firedome and press the loudspeaker upwards until it is flush with the ceiling Precautions e Before using the loudspeaker carefully check that all the connections have been made correctly to make sure there are no accidental short circuits that could cause electrical sparks e Check if your power amplifier s constant output voltage is 70 V or 100 V and find the rated power output e The sum of the operating power values of all the loudspeakers connected to the audio line must not exceed 80 of the amplifier s output power e Verify that the connections to all of your loudspeakers are made correctly in phase When different loudspeakers reproduce the same frequencies but with phase differences there may be sound cancellation Loudspeakers are often situated in adjacent positions and the sound waves interact with each other If a loudspeaker is connected incorrectly i e the polarity of the audio line conductors is inverted the audio signals are transmitted with differences in phase and correct reproduction is therefore jeopardized Most notably the bass response may suffer
