Dust collecticn bag 10 Dust collection and filter bag clamps 2 11 Filter beg 12 Hose clamps 0 13 Filter beg support rod 14 Support tube 15 Qst intake hose ASSEMBLY ASSEMBLING CASTERS TO BASE Turn base A Fig 3 over Align four holes B in caster with holes at the comer of the bas and assemble caster C to base with four pan head screws D Assemble the remaining three casters C Fig 4 to the base in the same manner ASSEMBLING SUPPORT TUBEAND MOTORANDBLOWER ASSEMBLY TO BASE L Place the motor and blower assembly A Fig 5 upside down cn a sturdy supporting surface 2 Find the support tube B Fig 5 and three 1 2 ind long hex head screws C 3 Carefully place support tube B Fig 6 over the motor impellers Align three holes E Fig 6 in sypat tube B with three holes in the motor casting two of which are shown at F and fasten support tube B to motor and blower assembly A with three 1 2 inch long screws C Fig 7 Waming label K Fig 7 should be positianed over the an off switch L when support tube B is proo erly positioned as shown NOTE Do not tighten three Screws two of which are shown at C Fig 8 at this tine 4 Carefully turn motor and blower assembly A Fig 8 with support tube B attached right side up Align tte four holes in the feet of sugoort tube B Fig 8 with four threaded holes K in base and fasten motor and blower assembly A Fig 9 to base L wi

Use for dry pickup anly 5 FOLLOW all electrical and safety codes including the National Electric Code NEC and the Occupatianml Safety and Health Regulations OSHA All eledrical connections and wiring should be made by qualified personnel only 6 DONOT use the dust collector to pick up flameble or conbustible liguids such as gasoline NEVER use the dust collector near any flameable or combustible liquids 7 USE the dust collector to pick up wood materials ally DONOT use the dust collector to pick up meta shavings dust or pats 8 NEVER use the dust collector to dissipate fumes or smoke NEVER pick up anything thet is bum ng or smoking such as cigarettes matches or hot ashes 9 USE anly as described in this mmal USE aly ac cessories recommended by Delta 10 DONOT pull the dust collector by the power cord NEVER allow the power cord to come in contact with sharp edges hot surfaces oil or grease 1L DONOT unplug the dust collector by pulling cn the power cord ALWAYS grasp the plug ncc the cord 12 DONOT handle the plug or dust collector with wet hands 13 REPLACE a damaged cord immediately D O NOT use a dameged cord or plug If the dust collector is nct operating properly or has been damaged left atdoors or has been in contact with water wom it to an Authorized Service Center for service 14 DONOT use the dust collector as a toy DONOT use near or around children 15 DONOT insert fingers cr fare
4. contact Ruming cn low voltage will damage the motor W ARNING DONOT EXPOSE THE DUST COLLECTO RTO RAINOROPERATE THEMACHINEIN DAMP LOCATIONS MOTO R SPECIFICATIONS The motor of the Model 50 840 Dust Collector is shipped wired for 120 Vdts Before comecting the dust collector to the power source make certain the switch is in the GF position GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS WARNING THIS TOOLMUSTBEGROUNDED WHILE INUSETO PROTECT THE OPERATOR FROM ELECTRIC SHOCK This dust collector must be grounded If it should malfuncticn or break down grounding provides a path of least resis tance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock This dust collector is equipped with a cord having an equip ment grounding conductor and grounding plug The plug must be inserted into an aporooriate outlet that is properly tet alled and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances W ARNING e mor commecticn of the eguipgment grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounckd Do not modify the plug provided with the dust collector If it will mt fit te atlet me a atle installed by a qualified electrician 120 VOLT SINGLE PHASEOPERATION Ihis tool must be grounded while in use to protect the operator from electric shock The motor recommended for use with your dust collector is shipped wired for 120

AL LENGTH OF CORD IN FEET GAGEOF EXTENSION CORDTO USE 120 VOLT 25 240 VOLT 50 100 200 300 50 Fig 19 OPERATING CONTROLS FOROPERATORSAFETY BEFOREOPERATING THEMACHINE MAKE CERTAIN THAT THE DUST INTAKE HOSE IS ALWAYS ATTACHED TO THE DUST INTAKE PORT THE ROTATING FAN LOCATED INSIDE THE BLOWER HOUSING IS ACCESSIBLE THROUGH THE DUST IN TAKEPORTANDCANBEHAZARDOUS ALWAYSWEARPROPERAPPAREL DONOT WEAR JEWELRY AND KEEP FINGERS AND ALL FOREIGN OBJECTS OUTOF THE DUST INTAKE PORT FOLLOW THE SAFETY RULES EARLIER IN THIS MANUAL ON OFF SWITCH The on off switch is located cn the side of the mtor To tum the dust collector CN push switch toggle A Fig 20 upward To tum the dust collector OFF push switch toggle A downward LOCKINGSWITCH IN THE OFF POSITION We suggest that when the dust collector is mt in use that the switch B be locked in the OFF positim This can be done by grasping the switch toggle A Fig 21 and pulling it out of the switch B as shown With tte switch toggle A Fig 21 removed the switch will nct operate However should the switch toggle A be re moved while the dust collector is rumirg it can be tumed OFF once but cannot be restarted without inserting the switch toggle MAINTENANCE NOTE Before any maintenance or service is performed be sure the unit is disconnected from the power source to prevent accidental darting All servicing other than the items recommended in this Instr

Volt Single Phase and is eguipped with an approved 3 conductor cord and 3 prong grounding type plug to fit the proper grounding type receptacle as shown in Fig 16 The green conductor in the cord is the grounding wire Never connect the green wire to a live teminal A temporary adapter show in Fig 17 is available far connecting 3 prong grounding type plugs to 2 prong receptacles if a properly grounded outlet is mt available The temporary adapter should be used only until a prop erly gromded outlet can be installed by a qualified electrician THIS ADAPTER IS NOT APPLICABLE IN CANADA The green colored rigid ear lug etc eted ing from the adapter is the grounding means and must be connected to a permanent ground such as to a properly grounded outlet box as shown in Fig 17 Whenever the adapter is used it must be held in place with a metal screw 240 VOLT SINGLE PHASEOPERATION The motor sugolied with your dust collector is a dual volt age 120 240 volt motor The dust collector motor is shipped ready to run for 120 volt operation however it may be m verted far 240 volt qoeraticn The conversicn of your dust collector for 240 volt qoeraticn must be dane by qualified electrical persamel Should you desire to have your dust collector converted for 240 volts take your dust collector to yor local Authorized Delta Service Center Call 1 800 438 2486 for the location of the nearest Authorized Service Center The Service Cente

12. over the lip of drum G and fasten with locking clamp J NOTE Make certain locking band H is positianed in the channel of drum before locking clamp J ASSEMBLINGDUST INTAKE HOSE TO MOTO RAND BLOWERASSEMBLY The dust collector is supgolied with a 4 flexible dx itake hose lo assemble the dust collection hose to the motor and blower assembly locsely attach hose clamp A Fig 14 around cne end of flexible hose B and assemble the hose to dust intake pat C Tighten hose clam A Fig 15 to hold flexible hose B on the blower and motor assembly D Assemble the remaining clamp to the other end of the flexible hose and to the woodworking machine IMPORTANT Do nct operate the dust collector without the flexible hose asserbled to the dust intake pact Always disconnect dust collector from the power source before comecting or discomecting an air intake hose to or from the blower and motor assembly CONNECTING MACHINE TO POWER SOURCE POWER CONNECTIONS A separate electrical cirauit should be used for your tools This circuit should not be less than 12 AWG and should be protected with a 20 amp time lag fuse Have a certified electrician repair or replace damaged or worn cord immed iately Before connecting the motor to the power line make certain the switch is in the OFF position and be sure that the electric current is of the same characteristics as stamped on the motor nameplate All line connections should make good
