INSERTING OR REPLACING THE BATTERIES e Remove the cover on the rear of the remote control e Insert two AAA 1 5V batteries making sure they are in the cor rect position see the instructions inside the battery compart ment e Replace the cover VY If the remote control unit is replaced or discarded the batteries must be removed and disposed of in accordance with current legislation as they are harmful to the environment Y Warning do not mix old and new batteries Do not mix alkaline standard carbon zinc or rechargeable nickel cadmium bat teries Do not dispose of batteries in fire Batteries may explode or leak If the remote control is not be used for a certain length of time remove the batteries SETTING THE TIME After having inserted the batteries the clock on the display flashes until the time is set Proceed as follows e Press the A or YW button until the correct time is reached Hold the button down to run rapidly through first the minutes then the tens of minutes and then the hours e Once the correct time has been reached release the button and press the OK button to confirm e To cancel the settings programmed on the remote control and restore the original settings press the reset button lightly with the point of a pencil or pen USING THE REMOTE CONTROL The first set of buttons on the remote control are the same EE j as those on the control panel XOS wO LOR of the appliance

T button Limited Warranty De Longhi is the distributor of Kenwood home appliances This warranty applies to all home appliances with De Longhi or Kenwood brand names FOR CONTIGUOUS UNITED STATES ONLY Limited Warranty We warrant each De Longhi AIR CONDITIONER to be free from defects in material and workman ship From the purchase date our obligation under this warranty is to provide one 1 year free parts and labor on the entire AIR CONDITIONER with an additional four 4 years free on any part of the sealed system consisting of the compressor evaporator condenser and factory connect ed refrigerant tubing Labor and all other parts during the additional four 4 year warranty are to be paid by the owner All AIR CONDITIONERS in need of repair are to be shipped to an authorized De Longhi service center at the owner s expense and De Longhi will then incur the return ship ping costs After the first five 5 years of ownership all expenses all parts labor and shipping are to be paid by the owner of the unit This warranty shall apply only if the AlR CONDITIONER is used in accordance with the factory directions that accompany it and on an Alternating Current AC circuit This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties and representations expressed or implied and all other obligations or liabilities on our part We do not authorize any other person or company to assume for us any liability in connection with the sale or

12. ance to perform a cycle of checks to verify operation Operation Ea AIR CONDITIONING MmopE Ideal for hot muggy weather when you need to cool and dehu midify the room To set this mode i l e Press the MODE button a number of times until the air conditio T D T ning symbol appears aal Select the target temperature by pressing the A or W but ton until the desired temperature is reached Select the desired fan speed by pressing the FAN button Four speeds are available 3 Maximum speed to achieve the target tempe PPT TT rature as rapidly as possible Medium speed reduces noise levels while main PTT taining a comfortable temperature Ran Low speed for silent operation and maxium energy efficiency er AUTO the appliance automatically selects the most suitable fan speed in relation to the tempe rature set on the digital display The most suitable temperature for the room during the summer varies from 75 F to 81 F 24 to 27 C You are recommended however not to set a temperature much below the outdoor tem perature DEHUMIDIFYING MmoDE Ideal to reduce room humidity spring and autumn damp rooms rainy periods etc In dehumidifying mode the appliance MUST be set up in the same way as for air conditioning with the air exhaust hose attached to enable the moisture to be discharged outside To set this mode e Press the MODE button a number of times until the dehum
13. automatically momentarily interrupting normal operation Le appears on the display During this operation it is normal for the noise made by the appliance to change In this mode you may have to wait a few minutes before the appliance starts giving out hot air In this mode the fan may operate for short periods even though the set temperature has already been reached Note With high humidity conditions the display could show Ft Empty the internal circuit as shown in the paragraph END OF SEASON OPERATIONS SMART MODE The appliance chooses automatically whether to operate in air conditioning fan or heating certain models only mode based on the set temperature and current room temperature To set this mode e Press the MODE button a number of times until the SMART sym bol appears e Select the required fan speed For safety reasons when the appliance is operating in heating mode the fan soeed could differ from the set speed 0 BOOST FUNCTION Ideal for the summer to cool rooms rapidly To set this mode e Press the button The appliance operates in air conditioning mode at maximum fan speed While this function is selected it is not possible to set the temperature or change fan speed Note BOOST function cannot be set during HEATING mode Description of the remote control DESCRIPTION OF THE REMOTE CONTROL Signal transmission
14. conditioner working efficient ly you should clean the dust filter every week of operation The filter is housed in the intake grille To clean the filters proceed as follows 1 Remove the dust filter by extracting it upwards figure H 2 Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust accu mulations from the filter If it is very dirty immer se in warm water and rinse a number of times The water should never be hotter than 104 F 40 C After washing leave the filter to dry then put it back in place START OF SEASON CHECKS Make sure the power cable and plug are undamaged and the outlet is in good condition Follow the installation instructions precisely END OF SEASON OPERATIONS e To empty the internal circuit completely of water remove the cap figure I e Run off all water left into a basin When alll the water has been drained put the cap back in place e Clean the filter and dry thoroughly before putting back END OF SEASON DUST COVER ACCESSORIES BAG In order to properly storage the appliance at the end of the season we suggest you cover it with the supplied end of season dust cover 17 jand you put the accessories in the rele vant end of season accessories bag 18 Troubleshooting NOTE NEVER TRANSPORT OR TURN THE APPLIANCE UPSIDE DOWN OR ON ITS SIDE IF THIS OCCURS WAIT 6 HOURS BEFORE TURNING THE APPLIANCE ON
