E IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS e This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved Children shall not play with the appliance Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision e Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years of age when it is energized or cooling down e The iron must not be left unattended while it Is O connected to the supply mains e The plug must be removed from the socket outlet before the water reservoir is filled with water e The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface When placing the iron on its heel ensure that the surface on which the heel is placed is stable e The iron is not to be used if it has been dropped if there are visible signs of damage or it is leaking The use of any electrical appliance requires the following common sense safety rules Primarily there is danger of injury or death and secondly the danger of damage to the appliance These are indicated in the text by the following two conventions WARNING Danger to the person IMPORTANT Damage to the appliance Further safety advice can be found on page 7 UK Helpline 0844 871 0960 Replacement Parts 08

3. indicator line A second setting is available to handle difficult jobs such as stubborn creases The Eco or economy setting can be used at the 2 3 dot and MAX temperature levels high steam is suitable for 3 dot and MAX levels only I Steam boost B Press the steam boost button to obtain a boost of extra steam for ironing out creases in heavy material such as denim etc The shot of steam can be used whilst dry ironing providing there is water in the tank and the temperature dial is set within the steam range Do not use shot of steam at temperatures below the steam range shown on the temperature dial NOTE For optimum steam quality do not operate the shot more than three times in succession Il Vertical steam Hold the iron in a vertical position between 1cm and 2cm away from the item e Press the steam boost button this will create vertical steam This feature is especially useful for removing creases from hanging clothes curtains wall hangings etc NOTE For optimum steam quality do not operate the shot more than three times in succession No drip system certain models only The no drip system is designed to prevent water escaping from the soleplate when the iron is too cold During use this feature may emit a loud click particularly during heat up or whilst cooling down This is perfectly normal and indicates that the system is functioning correctly E Auto shut of

15. ves all creases at a level you control RN40635 MUK Rev2_Instruction Book 05 05 2011 16 3 Page 4 I BEFORE USE Sort out the items to be ironed according to the type of fabric This will minimise the frequency of temperature adjustment for different garments NOTE The steam facility should only be used on garments which are suitable for ironing at 3 dot and MAX settings see Temperature guide on page 3 Textiles and clothes are supposed to carry ironing instructions If they don t you should follow the fabric guide on page 3 but be sure to test the temperature by ironing the hem of the garment or similar discreet area first If you turn the temperature dial down from a hot setting to a cooler setting wait until the iron temperature has stabilised before you continue ironing Delicate fabrics such as silk wool velour etc are best ironed with an ironing cloth to prevent shine marks E FILLING E 1 Make sure that the iron is not plugged in then set the variable steam switch to O position 4 before filling the iron with water 2 Lift the filler cap until it locks and holds in the open position Fill the water through the filling hole into the water tank using the beaker provided EX The tank holds 350ml of water The iron is fitted with a clear view water tank so you can easily see the water level when filling
