DR Th i i fo e Infant Flow sensor is placed on the KA infant s bridge of the nose with the protruding part a _ folded so the sensor elements are located under the Se pm i nostrils To position the sensor 1 Bend the sensor s body so that it fits on the bridge of the infant nose 2 Apply the sensor on the nose with the T shape sensor element towards the mouth and the wire towards the forehead Secure with a piece of facial tape 3 Bend the T shape sensor element to position it just under the nostrils Be sure that it does not touch the nose 4 Draw the wire over the infant s forehead and tape to enhance reliability 5 Check that clear strong signals are being transmitted before leaving the patient Cleaning the Sensor e Wipe the sensor and cable with a non corrosive to plastic cleanser before use e Make sure the complete sensor assembly is thoroughly dry before reusing it Do not autoclave or soak the sensor in disinfectants2.
