10. riginal position The calibration of the Medescan Touchless Thermometer is factory set and should only be recalibrated if the device s accuracy is in question The calibration should be checked in the medical setting in which it will be used Please note depending on various skin types and thickness there may be temperature differences If a dramatic change in ambient room temperature occurs wait 10 15 minutes so the unit can become acclimated to the new room temperature Gently slide the cover down to access the battery compartment Instructions For optimal results allow the unit to acclimatise to the ambient room temperature for 10 15 minutes before the first usage of the day Before taking an individual s temperature make sure to remove hair and wipe perspiration from the forehead Avoid any drafts from nasal specs air conditioning etc Aim at the FOREHEAD above the right eye holding the unit approximately one inch 2 5 cm from the bod y Press the Scan button to measure temperature Results will be displayed in less than one second Whenever testing a new person especially a child under the age of 2 it is a good idea to do a test on the three hot zones A B amp C as per photograph below The zone which yields the highest temperature should be used as a regular test zone for most accurate results The hot zone test should be repeated every 3 6 months As with all Infrared thermometers it is quite normal e
