15. h ensures that an intruder cannot circumvent the detection range of the main lens by literally staying under the radar An additional lens with a detection range that points straight down is integrated in the detector for this purpose This mini dome lens has 17 segments that cover an area of approximately 3 75 m x 3 75 m at a height of 2 m Its principal detection range can be seen in the figure on the next page 22 Detection ranges of the bottom lens used for creep zone protection Keep pets away from the protected area as far as possible to prevent them from triggering a false alarm If you cannot do this try to align the detection area accordingly by adjusting the height of the device If necessary cover the lens for creep zone protection Please bear in mind that pets can also jump up onto cupboards for example which may bring them into the detection range Select an appropriate mounting location at a typical height of 2 m To reduce the risk of a false alarm being triggered the PIR detector must not be exposed to direct sunlight car headlights etc nor must it be mounted in the vicinity of a heat source above a heating appliance for example The detection ranges must be aligned against a wall or the floor but not directly ona window heater or other heat source The effectiveness of the detection procedure depends on the temperature difference between the moving object and the relevant background It is not po

17. ion 7 1 Sensitivity If it is operated without the central control unit every sensor pulse causes the motion detector to trip If the central control unit is used the response according to the intensity of motion can be set on the unit Examples of use Alarm Insensitive e g 3 pulses period Light Sensitive e g 1 2 pulses period 7 2 Operation with a dimmer as a directly taught in actuator e Direct teaching in to a HomeMatic dimmer transfers the following 29 standard profile which is designed to make lighting control more user friendly to that dimmer Switch on for 5 minutes plus a 20 second switch off delay with a gently flickering light acting as an advance switch off warning If someone is present in the room for a long time this serves as a timely reminder to activate the motion detector again Depending on the teach in variant used see Subsection 6 3 the brightness criterion e g only switch when dark may also be transferred Resetting to the initial state Press and hold the teach in button on the wireless motion detector for at least five seconds The device LED starts to slowly flash red To reset the device now press and hold the teach in button for at least another five seconds The LED will now start to flash red faster Release the teach in button to complete the reset procedure the LED briefly lights up red green and orange in sequence to confirm that the reset has been successful
