3. basket 8 POWER FAILURE Most power failures are corrected within a few hours and should not affect the temperature of your ice maker if you minimize the number of times the ice maker cover is opened If the power is going to be OFF for a long er period of time you need to take the proper steps to disconnect your appliance Failure to unplug the ice maker could result in electrical shock or personal injury CARE AND MAINTENANCE CAUTION Failure to unplug the ice maker could result in electrical shock or personal injury DRAINING YOUR ICE MAKER Follow the steps below to drain the unit 1 Carefully move the unit towards a sink or other suitable location for draining 2 Remove the drain cap and rubber drain plug located at the left side of the ice maker to access the drain NOTE An additional rubber drain plug is included as a spare part 3 Let the water drain from the drain plug 4 Firmly install the rubber drain plug into the drain port WARNING Do not tip the unit over while there is water in the reservoir REMOVING THE INLET HOSE To disconnect the inlet hose from the portable ice maker push the water inlet button while pulling the inlet hose at the same time CLEANING YOUR ICE MAKER OUTSIDE ae gr S JI fg Pull Inlet Hose e DA Drain cap and rubber drain NJ plug Push the water inlet button The outside of the ice maker should be cleaned regularly with a mild detergent solu
4. is turned off Insert the inlet hose into the water inlet port shown in Fig 1a Make sure that the inlet hose if fully inserted to avoid water leakage See Fig 1b Connect the other end of the hose to your water source Fig 1c Hand screw the hose into the water source and be sure to tighten the connection to avoid leaking Fig 1d The recommended water pressure is 58 PSI ICE MAKING INSTRUCTIONS Turn the unit on by pressing the Power button Select desired ice cube size by pressing the Size Selector Small Medium or Large Water will be pumped from the water reservoir to the water tray under the freezing bars The freezing bars will start freezing Once the freezing process is complete the freezing bars will heat up to drop the ice cubes Then the ice shovel will push the ice cubes down to the ice basket When the unit is used for the first time discard the first couple batches of ice INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 5 The ice maker will automatically check the water level in the reservoir periodically and will stop the ice making cycle when the ice maker detects any shortage of water hi MANUAL FILL METHOD The water indicator 4 will then start flashing Press the ON OFF button to turn off the unit and fill the reservoir with water Press the ON OFF button again to restart the ice making cycle or wait 3 minutes after the water indicator stops flashing as the ice maker will begin it s normal operation cycle au t
5. outlet Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third ground prong from the power cord IMPORTANT Do not install the Ice maker near an oven radiator or other heat source SPACE REQUIREMENTS During transportation the incline angle of the cabinet should not be over 45 Do not turn the Ice Maker upside down Problems could occur in the compressor and sealed system The Ice maker should be placed horizontally on a properly leveled surface To ensure proper ventilation for your Ice maker allow 6 of space at the back and on each side Before using the Ice maker for the first time please wait 4 hours after positioning it Clean the ice shovel ice basket water reservoir and ice scoop frequently OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Using this portable ice maker requires water Adding water to this unit can be done in 2 different methods 1 MANUAL FILL METHOD 1 2 3 4 Make sure that the ice maker is turned off Open the top cover and remove the ice basket Remove any dust or objects that may be in the water reservoir Fill the water reservoir up to the line marked V Fill with potable or drinking water only DIRECT WATER CONNECTION METHOD The direct water line can be installed into the ice maker for a continuous flow of water preventing you from refilling a water reservoir every time you need more ice NOTE For installation please consult a professional plumber SL ser gt Make sure that the ice maker

9. he Timer button and icon will disappear confirming the function has been cancelled TIMER DELAY SWITCH OFF When the ice maker is ON press the Timer button on the control panel and 1 will flash in the Timer Set dis play window Set the desired time delay OFF hours by pressing the SIZE SELECTOR button The time incre ments are 0 5 hour up to 18 hours The time displayed will change invariably and will decrease by 0 1 Hr When the delay time set has elapsed the ice maker will turn off To cancel the delayed switch off function press the Timer button and icon will disappear confirming the function has been cancelled NORMAL SOUNDS Your new ice maker may make sounds that are not familiar to you Hard surfaces like the floor and walls can make the sounds seem louder than they actually are The following describes the kinds of sounds that might be new to you and what may be making them e Ratting noises may come from the flow of the refrigerant or the water line items stored on top of the ice maker can also make noises e The high efficiency compressor may make a pulsating or high pitched sound e Water running from the evaporator to the water reservoir may make a splashing sound e As each cycle ends you may hear a gurgling sound due to the refrigerant flowing in your ice maker e You may hear air being forced over the condenser by the condenser fan e During the harvest cycle you may hear the sound of ice cubes falling into the ice
10. indicator will flash and the ice maker will stop working automatically Once you add water to the unit the indicator will turn off and the ice maker will resume normal operation 4 WARNING INDICATOR This indicates that there is an error with the unit see Troubleshooting on page 11 5 SELF CLEANING INDICATOR Indicates unit has entered self cleaning program see Cleaning your Ice Maker on page 9 6 TIMER INDICATOR Displays remaining time when unit to turn ON or OFF see Timer Setting Instructions on page 8 7 ICE SIZE INDICATOR This ice maker produces bullet shaped ice Each time you press the Size Selector button the cube size selection will change between Small Medium and Large The chosen mode shall stay as selected un less changed or there is a power failure For the most efficient operation when ambient temperature is below 59 F use the small cube size setting In an event of a power interruption operation does not re start automatically Upon restart Medium ice size will be selected at default INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS INSTALLATION OF YOUR ICE MAKER Locate the ice maker away from direct sunlight and sources of heat stove heater radiator etc Direct sun light may affect the acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical consumption Extreme cold am bient temperatures may also cause the ice maker not to perform properly Plug the ice maker into an exclusive properly installed grounded wall

15. tion warm water and use a soft cloth to wipe Do not use rough cloth to avoid scratching or damaging the surface of the unit INTERIOR The Whynter IMC 491DC ice maker is equipped with a Self Clean program that ensures your ice is clean and fresh by removing scales and impurities This program works the same as the ice making process only with out the freezing 1 Unplug the unit 2 Remove the ice basket 3 Create a one part vinegar to 10 parts water solution and pour the solution into the water reservoir 4 Plug the unit press and hold the CLEAN button 6 for 3 seconds he unit will automatically enter the self clean program which will take about 5 6 minutes During this process the icon and CG Nill be dis played in LCD window and the fan blade in the CH con will always rotate This process will rinse the inside parts several times 5 After self clean program is complete drain out the water by loosening the drain cap and unplugging the rub ber drain plug on the side Install the rubber drain plug once the water reservoir is empty 6 Unplug the unit add fresh water into water reservoir up to water level mark 7 Plug in the unit and initiate self clean program again Once the program completes drain out the water 8 Dry the interior and exterior with a soft and clean cloth 9 Install the rubber drain plug and tighten the drain cap NOTE When using the unit for the first time or an extended break fr
