BORNIER DOUILLE AIDE L AMOR AGE HPS SEULEMENT FUSIBLES OPTION Schema A GEH 5819A INSTRUCTIONS Luminaires PM 17 amp PM 16 AIDE L AMORCAGE f HPS SEULEMENT FUSIBLES OPTION COLLIER Sch ma B 1 Certains mod les comportent un cran pour viter l exposition de l utilisateur aux composants lectriques quand il remplace l ampoule Cet cran doit tre t pour installer les fils d arriv e d alimentation sur le bornier Cet cran DOIT tre remis en place apres avoir connect l alimentation secteur voir sch ma B 2 Faites passer les fils d alimentation au travers de l orifice d acc s pour c blage de l embo tage par glissement quand l appareil est install sur le poteau Mettez d aplomb et fixez le luminaire sur le poteau en serrant les trois vis de fixation dans l embo tage par glissement 3 Connectez les fils d arriv e d alimentation au bornier en vous assurant que le fil d arriv e de terre est appair sur le bornier avec le fil vert de terre du luminaire Ces instructions n ont pas pour destination de couvrir tous les d tails ou variantes de l quipement ni de r pondre toutes les ventualit s que vous pourriez rencontrer pendant l installation le fonctionnement ou l entretien Si vous souhaitez des informations compl mentaires ou si vous rencontrez un probl me particulier qui ne soit pas adress de votre point de vue d acheteur le sujet doit tre re2. GE Lighting Solutions THOROUGHLY BEFORE INSTALLING A WARNING READ Risk of electric shock e Turn power off before servicing seeinstructions GENERAL This luminaire is designed for outdoor lighting applications and should not be used in areas of limited ventilation or in high ambient temperature enclosures Best results will be obtained if the luminaire is installed and maintained according to the following recommendations UNPACKING This luminaire has been properly packed to protect it during transit Unpack inspect and notify the distributor or shipping agent of any damage found MOUNTING CAUTION Unit will fall if not installed properly e Follow installation instructions This luminaire is provided with means for mounting on 2 in 2 375 O D to 3 in 3 500 O D pole tops INSTALLATION Refer to figure A Make all electrical connections in accordance with the National Electrical Code and any applicable local code requirements TERMINAL BOARD START AID HPS ONLY BALLAST FUSES OPTIONAL Figure A Figure B GEH 5819A INSTRUCTIONS PM 17 amp PM 16 HPS ONLY 1 Certain models have a shield to protect the user from exposure to electrical components while relamping This shield must be removed to install power supply leads to the terminal board This shield MUST be replaced after making the supply connections See Figure B 2 Feed the power supply l
3. ballast la position d utilisation etc SERRAGE DE LAMPE La lampe doit tre ins r e de fa on s re avec un couple de serrage NEMA EEI sp cifi 4 4 mkg 35 livre pouce ce qui est le mieux r alis en serrant fortement la main pour mettre un couple suffisant Le serrage doit compl tement appuyer et charger le contact central de la douille avec le culot de la lampe INSTALLATION DES VOLUTES SUR LE LUMINAIRE PM 16 Trois 3 volutes et trois 3 vis autotaraudeuses sont emball es non assembl es dans le carton d emballage Pour installer chacune des volutes sur le luminaire accrochez sa languette dans une des trois alv oles c t int rieur du bord d anneau qui est sous le r fracteur voir sch ma C Fixez la volute sur le bas du luminaire avec une des trois vis fournies VIS AUTOTARAUDEUSE ALVEOLE DE VOLUTE 3 EMPLACEMENTS Sch ma C ENTRETIEN ET NETTOYAGE Un nettoyage p riodique du r fracteur permettra un fonctionnement au maximum de l efficacit de l optique Le r fracteur peut tre d pos en desserrant trois boulons d assemblage et en tournant le collier de maintien Lavez le avec des solutions non abrasives de savon nettoyant ou d tergent et rincez le l eau froide NOTE Le r fracteur est clavet sur le collier avec son c t rue l oppos de la charni re Il faut garder cet alignement au remontage La luminosit du luminaire d pend aussi de l ge de sa lampe Dans les a
4. e working with the fixture to prevent injury Reassemble the PE receptacle connectors if provided close and latch canopy LAMPS CAUTION Risk of burn e Allow lamp fixture to cool before handling Use only lamps specified on nameplate Observe lamp manufacturer s recommendations and restrictions on lamp operation particularly ballast type burning position etc LAMP TIGHTNESS The lamp should be securely inserted to NEMA EEI specified torque of 35 inch pounds which is best achieved by very firmly tightening to insure applica tion of sufficient torque Tightening must be sufficient to fully depress and load center contact of socket INSTALLATION OF SCROLLS FOR PM 16 LUMINAIRE Three 3 scrolls amp three 3 thread forming screws are packed unassembled in the shipping carton To install each of the scrolls on the luminaire hook it s tab into one of the three 3 sockets on the underside of the rim that is below the refractor See Figure C Secure the scroll at the bottom of the fixture with one of the three screws provided SCROLL SOCKET 3 PLACES Figure C MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Periodic cleaning of the refractor will ensure operation at maximum optical efficiency The refractor may be removed by loosening three tie bolts and rotating the securing collar Wash with non abrasive soap cleaner or detergent solutions and rinse with cool water NOTE The refractor is keyed to the collar with the stre
5. eads through the slip fitter wire access hole as the fixture is installed on the pole Level and secure the fixture to the pole by tightening the three set screws in the slipfitter 3 Connect power supply leads to the terminal board making sure that the ground lead is mated with the terminal receiving the green grounding wire These instructions do not purport to cover all details or variations in equipment nor to provide for every possible contingency to be met in connection with installation operation or maintenance Should further information be desired or should particular problems arise which are not covered sufficiently for the purchaser s purposes the matter should be referred to GE Lighting Solutions Verify that supply voltage is correct by comparing it to nameplate IF SINGLE VOLTAGE All single voltage ballasts are pre wired such that user need only connect the supply conductors IF MULTIVOLT 120 208 240 277 volts Connect the ballast lead with the insulated terminal to the desired voltage terminal as indicated on the ballast terminal nameplate IF MULTIWATT Multiwatt ballasts are available in various combinations of wattage See wiring instructions on wiring tag inside the luminaire 4 Re install shield noted above if removed and install lamp 5 Install the canopy The hinges can only be assembled when the canopy is tilted up about 40 degrees It will rest in the fully open position but should be braced whil
