When watching TV without the PIP window or menu system in use the OK FREEZE button freezes the picture until you press any button on the remote to resume normal TV viewing The FREEZE feature automatically times out after a short time Please note that when you unfreeze you go back to live programming skipping any programming that occurred during the freeze Note The FREEZE feature does not work on signals from the DVI HDTV CMP17 input in progressive scan 480p or HDTV 1080i modes Do not use the Freeze feature for an extended period of time This can cause the image to be permanently imprinted on the picture tube Such damage is not covered by your warranty Press any button to unfreeze the picture at any time ONeOFF When in TV mode turns the TV on and off If in AUX HD mode and programmed turns the component on and off PIP AGAIN When the remote in TV mode press this button once to bring up the small picture in picture PIP window Press it again to bring up the picture outside picture POP windows Press it a third time to remove POP See Chapter 4 for more information about using PIP When the remote is in DVD mode this button accesses the Scene Again feature which replays the last several seconds approximately 10 of the DVD disc you re playing The Scene Again feature does not work with VCDs or mp3 files PIP CH DVD ZOOM When the remote is in TV mode this button changes the channel in the PIP window

29. 3 Playing DVDs Regional Coding Both the TV DVD unit and the discs are coded by region These regional codes must match in order for the disc to play If the codes don t match the disc won t play This unit s code is region 1 Using Different Menus Each disc is programmed with different features There are three separate menu paths that you can use to access features e The Disc menu The disc menu is part of each disc and is separate from the DVD s menu system The contents of each disc menu vary according to how the disc was authored and what features are included The disc menu is turned on and off while the disc is playing with the PRESETS DISC MENU button on the remote e The DVD s Info Display The Info Display appears as icons across the top of the screen when a disc is playing It can only be accessed while you are playing a disc It s turned on and off with the INFO button on the remote e The DVD s menu system The DVD player s menu system is accessed only when a disc isn t playing It appears when the STOP button is pressed A feature only works if the disc was programmed with that feature If a menu item is grayed out that item isn t available In addition to the DVD menus the TV DVD offers an abbreviated TV Main Menu while you re using the DVD player To access the picture sound and image controls for the TV while using the internal DVD player press the TV button on your remote Loading
