1. 8 t al y f hy LA d i amp A i e a i VI Sakes z i all i A l l D SA v i T ee a e aia a Se 4c 1 Ae a a ag i th ba pre nata MW gt PK INFRARED COMPACT PRINTER Read carefully before putting into service MRU No 99999 ENGLISH EMISSION MONITORING SYSTEMS MRU Ltd User manual Infrared Compact Printer Set up The printer is powered by 4 AA size alkaline batteries which will provide arround 6000 print lines beforereplacement is required These should be fitted into the battery compartment on the rear of the printer taking note of the individual battery orientation The IR compact printer utilizied thermal paper MRU No 59462 single roll or MRU No 59465 5 pack and care should be taken when fitting new paper rolls to ensure that the shiny side of the paper faces the printer head The paper should be placed into the slot within the paper roll holder whilst holding the paper feed button until the paper feeds through to the front of the printer Ensure that the paper has an even egde and is not folded before attempting to load into the printer Note Do not try and pull the paper through manually as this could damage the print head use the paper feed button If the paper does jam then very carefully ease the edge of the paper back into the paper roll holder and try reloading as detailed above Operation Button layout and functions 1 pa2. e following symptoms are present e The print contrast remains too low even when the control is set to highest contrast e Printspeedslows due to the print head moving too slowly across the paper e Printing Stopps before all information on a line has been completed e The battery condition reference shown at the end of the self test is 1 or 0 Remove the batteries from the printer if you are not planning to use the unit for a long period of time Thel i character is printed if information is lost because the printer cannot print fast enough to keep up with incoming data In order to prolong battery life please note that it is suggestet that you set the print contrast to the lightest readable setting and ensure that the printer is turned off once you have finished printing The charcter will shown on the print out if the printer has detected incorrect data due to interfer ence with or interruption to the stream of incoming information Common causes for this error include incorrect positioning of printer with reference to the instru ment this can either be due the distance or the angle of operation obstruction of the infrared sig nal or even interference from another infrared emitting source Operating temperature 0 50 C 32 F 122 F Storage temperature 40 60 C 40 F 140 F Humidity 5 95 relativ bei 40 5 95 relative at 104 F Measuring instruments for flue gases and environmental pr

4. per feed 2 on off 3 lighten contrast 4 darken contrast 5 infrared receiver The printer will automatically switch off after 10 minutes of inactivity To reactivate simply press the power on button The printer will also switch off automatically during printing if the battery voltage drops too low if this happens fit a new set of batteries Positioning the printer and the measuring instrument Ensure that there are no obstructions between the instrument emitter at the top of the device and the printer receiver on the bottom of the printer below the keypad The distance of printer and measuring instrument may be up to 1 m if the horizontal transmitting angel is up to 60 MRU Ltd User manual Infrared Compact Printer Additional information If you are not certain that the printer is operating correctly run the self test as follows Turn the printer off hold down the paper feed button whilst switching the instrument back on the unit will now perform a self test If the printer fails the initial self test then turn the printer off and run the self test for a second time If the printer fails again after checking that there is sufficient battery power it requires service The battery condition reference is a number from 0 to 5 that gives an indication of how much us able battery life is remaining 5 being the highest figure Regardless of the battery condition refer ence new batteries should be installed when any of th
