Connect the Video and iPod Cables G Connect the blue plug of the RTI Video and Power Cable into the blue power jack on the iMIV Connect the other green RCA connector to the iMIV s RCA video out green See Figure 4 4 Connect the 13 pin DIN plug of the iPod cable to the iPod jack on the iMIV The other end will connect directly to your iPod You should run this cable to the middle arm console between the two front seats See Figure 4 Tip amp A good spot for the iMIV is below the REM panel fuse box panel You can get to it by removing the cover on the rear left in the trunk 7 Page 1 3 Rear Installation for MELBUS prepped cars The Rear Installation for MELBUS prepped cars is for cars that already have a preinstalled MELBUS cable in the trunk but no RTI navigation system The preinstalled MELBUS cable foamed cable runs from the HU to the trunk Its end is usually rolled up in a bag and taped somewhere near the fuse box 1 3 1 4 1 3 2 Checklist The following items are required for the rear installation Product Number Product Name 24 EA IM4 01 00 IMIV 24 CA VOLVO P04 Generic Power Cable MELBUS module or 24 CA VOLVO P03 Volvo REM Power Cable Volvos with model year starting 2005 24 CA IPOD DIN13 30 IMIV iPod Cable 300 cm or 24 CA IPOD DIN13 40 IMIV iPod Cable 400 cm or 24 CA IPOD DIN13 45 IMIV iPod Cable 450 cm Connection Diagram and Installation Instructions Rear View Radio Speakers2. Main EM M AMP Power MELBUS HU MELBUS Module to HU Cable Generic Power Cable or REM Power Cable usually not existent on HU 8xx Figure 5 Connect the MELBUS and Power Cables 1 Verify that the existing MELBUS cable runs to the Melbus DIN connector on your HU Connect the other end of the MELBUS cable into the HU jack on the iMIV See Figure 5 If you ve purchased a REM Power Cable or a Generic Power Cable you will have to find a 12V power supply that is unswitched that is a power supply that still has power running to it even when the car s ignition is switched off You should turn your car off and use a voltmeter to test for live current The end with the blue connector has to be plugged into the Power jack also blue on the iMIV See Figure 5 8 Page NOTE Chapter 2 1 has a detailed picture guide for installing the REM Power Cable A Before you connect to battery power be sure to turn the ignition to position 1 off and disconnect the ground terminal on the battery Once you have made the power connection s for the iMIV turn the ignition key to position 2 and connect the battery ground terminal Failure to follow this procedure may cause a trouble code which would require a dealer visit to reset iMIV iPod Cable Figure 6 Connect the iPod Cable Connect the 13 pin DIN plug of the iPod cable to the iPod jack on the iMIV See Figure 6 Tip amp A good spot fo
